Description

The looks and styling of the rugged Men's Timberland Earthkeepers Six Inch Leather Boot might be classic, but the eco-friendly construction is strictly cutting edge technology. Whether you're hiking, camping or doing field research for work, these durable leather boots keep you comfortable and feeling good about your reduced impact on the environment. Timberland created their Men's Earthkeepers Six Inch Leather Boot with the smallest environmental footprint possible. The lining material features recycled textiles, the high traction outsole uses recycled rubber components and the premium full-grain leather upper was tanned in a third-party-rated facility that classified the business according to effective energy use, waste processing and water treatment.

While the Timberland Earthkeepers Six Inch Leather Boots are highly water resistant, keep in mind that any water extending along the upper organic cotton bootlaces will eventually seep in along the tongue area. That said, this durable outdoor boot is ideal for covering damp wilderness terrain and even trails that would mire ordinary hiking shoes in several inches of mud. Whether you need rugged outdoor camping boots or great-looking classic boots to match your favorite casual jeans, Timberland's Earthkeepers Six Inch Leather Boots are a big step up in quality and exceptional comfort.THIS BOOT RUNS A FULL SIZE LARGE, WE RECOMMEND YOU BUY ½ TO 1 SIZE SMALLER THAN YOU USUALLY WEAR.

great boots
March 04, 2012

I just ordered my 4th pair of these boots, so I've been walking around in Timberland Earthkeepers for quite some time now. I buy a pair and literally wear the soles off. I'm thinking about starting a museum. These boots have faithfully served me and my feet for several years running. They're both durable and stylish and make for great everyday, up for anything wear. They also dress up with ease, especially the dark brown variety. They're as much home on the trail as they are on the street. Just a few days ago, I found myself looking at other boots as I can't find these in a store anywhere near where I live. I think I've tried on about every boot imaginable and nothing else that looks decent even comes close to what Timberland has achieved in comfort with these Earthkeepers. It feels as if they break in immediately. Man, I've never written a review for anything at all, but I'm just so pleased with these boots. I feel compelled to write a poem, actually, an ode to boot perfection. If there's one flaw with these, I'd say I find the soles wear down faster than average. But, then again, I'm really hard on my boots and wear them everyday and everywhere for almost everything. I should note, however, that the leather uppers are incredibly durable and they're always intact at every seam right down to the bitter end. As mentioned by others, consider that they do run approximately a size to a size and a half LARGE. In sum, I'm a boot man that's hard to please and I'm completely satisfied with these boots and will continue to buy them as long as they make them. They're comfortable, durable, versatile in style, and downright handsome.

Pros: comfortable, stylish, durable

great shoes
February 21, 2012

Very stylish! ...And very light and comfortable. I'm pretty picky when it comes to shoes, and these make my feet happy! After reading some of the reviews I was a little concerned about getting the sizing right, but I ended up ordering my normal size and they fit great.

Pros: stylish, comfortable, light

Quality Boot
February 08, 2012

Although my first purchase resulted in a half-torn tongue in the front of the boot, a new pair was sent to me very quickly to replace the first pair. I enjoy them very much; they're light, they fit well, they're waterproof (tested that out), and they're good-looking.

Pros: light, good-looking, durable, waterproof

Quality Boot
January 17, 2012

Overall, the boots seem to be made of quality materials (leather is very soft) and put together well. They are also very comfortable. A few notes about the boots: they run at least a half size large, the soles are very low profile and become rather slick in snow/rain, and the soles squeak when wet.

Pros: well-made
Cons: leather scratches easy, squeaky when wet

The Perfect Boot
January 10, 2012

This boot is a must have for any urban booter. Super cool design makes it very unique and stands apart from every "other" boot you see. Super comfortable too! I mean SUPER comfortable! Already has a bit of a worn it look and feel to it which is a major plus. I highly recommend this boot to anyone looking for a high quality boot for traipsing around the city.

Pros: super comfortable, cool design and style

All around good Shoe
January 04, 2012

I like this shoe very much. But I think it should be clear that this is definitely a walking shoe or a lightweight boot. It is wearable through the summer months, and in the Winter with serious socks. Not your traditional work boot, not beefy. It conforms to your feet well, being totally leather, and feels good to run around in. I feel as though the sole will wear quickly, but am looking into what it will take to get it re-soled. If it were made in the USA, it might be the only lightweight boot I'd ever get.

Pros: comfortable, breaks in quick
Cons: made outside usa, sole wears quickly

Great Boot!
October 16, 2011

this boot is amazing! i've been trotting around town for about a week now and have nothing negative to report. very quality leather (waterproof!) and stitching with an awesome non slip rubber outsole that is very durable. there are two leather loops on the back of these boots if you want to run the laces around you ankles. the fit definitely runs large so prepare to size down. Very comfortable boot that is perfect for fall or winter. Pair it with a smartwool sock and you wont be disappointed.

Pros: durable waterproof leather, durable outsole with great traction, loops on boot back for wrapping extra laces

Great boot. Agree with previous reviews regarding sizing. Order 1/2 size under your regular size. Very comfortable. Broke in easily and made out of quality materails. Highly recommended.

Great Boot
September 25, 2011

I found the boots to be incredibly lightweight and stylish. The size is the only thing that I had a problem with. They seem to run big so size down. As far as comfort, they were lightweight enough to walk around town all afternoon and still look good with jeans for evening eats. I would recommend these to anyone...

Great boot
July 13, 2011

This is my second pair of this boot. They are very comfortable right out of the box and only get better with time. Really light and durable. I'm going on a little over a year with my first pair and all stitching is still in tact but th sole is finally worn to the point where the stars in the forefoot are gone. Most of my other boots have worn much faster. I see myself buying a third pair.

Pros: comfy light & durable

Ordered down since reviews said boot ran big...
June 14, 2011

... but sizing down was too small thus not necessary. I wear 12 to 12.5 shoe and boot size 12 was perfect. Go with the darker color if available. Quality boot that looks tough.

Very good looking, rugged boot without being too bulky. Construction seems to be high quality although it isn't meant for actual heavy duty work. Runs 1-1.5 sizes large so size down.

May 13, 2011

These are great Timberland boots. Great styling, very comfortable, high quality. I would recommend these boots to anyone. FYI, they do run a little big. About a size. Good fro a boot though, I do like the room. Especially with thicker socks. All in all, great purchase at a great price.

Great-looking, Solid Boot
March 08, 2011

This boot does run very large - one full size large. But, it's a great looking boot, and comfortable as well. The sole is rubber, so it's very nice to walk on.

Pros: great looking, feels solid
Cons: little too "tall"

Great shoe....
March 07, 2011

Very well made shoe for light duty. Wanted a rugged everyday shoe that could take the elements if neededand this fit the bill. I didn't listen to other reviewers and I initially purchased my normal size 12 and it was huge so I ordered down 1/2 size and I'd still say it's a 1/2 size to big but it's a comfortable and roomy and I like the fit. A little pricey at full price but grap it during a coupon day. Highly recommend this show and Altrec for there service !

Pros: well made, big toe box, good medium duty sole
Cons: runs 1/2 to 1 size big

Light, eco friendly, look great
February 27, 2011

These boots do seem sized large--I normally wear a 10 and the 9.5 seems a little bit big. The boots have held up well though I haven't worn them hard. The material marks easily and looks more rugged than polished. They're great casual wear boots, wouldn't necessarily recommend for vigorous hiking, but more for streetwear. Always like the look of Timberlands, but sometimes disappointed in the fit--which would be true with these as well. One bonus on these boots is that they are light--not heavy and bulky.

Good boot, decent buy
February 14, 2011

There was a 40% off on Timberland's site which I missed out on in November. So I finally purchased the boots after months of waiting for the perfect deal. The boots run fairly large, at the store i tried on a 9 (my true size) and was roomy. Ordered 8.5, it's not a snug fit. Weird that this boot runs big. for $141 with tax and free ship, seems like an ok deal. but if I had not missed 40% off and free ship..$104 would have been such a great deal ! Before you buy, i would recommended trying on at the store. my size 8.5 may fit snug with the right soles.

Great Boots!
February 13, 2011

Overall these boots are great, look is exactly what I was looking for. Only issues is echoed in most of the other reviews- these things are HUGELY oversized. I initially ordered 11.5 (my typically boot size to accomodate thicker socks). Had to size down twice, eventually settling on the 10.5. Recommend buying at least 1 full size down from normal.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance
Cons: sizing is difficult

Boots are awesome BUT too large.
February 02, 2011

These boots are exactly what I was looking for BUT they definitely run 1 size too large. I am a 10.5. They were HUGE. I ended up getting a 9.5 as well and they are still slightly large but work. I returned the 10.5. They are nicely constructed and remind me of my Timerland Chukka (Green and Brown) goretex boots from a long time ago.

Cons: sized incorrectly

These boots are attractive yet comfortable at the same time. I am typically a 10 or 10.5 so I ordered a 10 thinking they would fit - they didn't. Great boots just order at least a half size to a a size smaller. You won't be disappointed.

The 6 in Earthkeeper Boot is a stylish, yet durable boot. The boots look great and seem to be made really well. Great Boots!
January 09, 2011

I really like these boots. They are very stylish, and look very appropriate for casual as well as dressy attire. They are quite rugged. It only took about three full days of wearing them for them to feel very broken in. Based on previous reviews, I ordered a full size below what I normally wear and they fit great, so make sure you order down a size. I am very happy with this purchase and I would definitely order from Altrec again.

Fresh out of the box, but lookin GOooooD!
January 05, 2011

I have been looking for a pair of stylish boots to tackle Burlington, VT snowstorms and the occasional jaunt into the woods day hiking. I Think the Timberland Earthkeepers are finally the perfect match. These boots come broken in, and the craftsmanship appears to be great. They are quite light and lack any great bulk which is nice for daily town use, but i would be hesitant to do anything more than a day hike in them. In summary, the perfect urban boot to tackle an average day of sloshing around.

Great Casual Looking Boot
December 20, 2010

I wear these boots to work almost every day and they look excellent. I wore them out this past weekend and they were very comfortable and durable. These boots you can wear with jeans or khakis and they are durable like any other Timberland's I have owned. I would suggest getting one size smaller than what you wear in a pair of running shoes. I wear a 12 and I purchased a 11 and they fit great. Overall very happy with my purchase and the price is the cheapest on Altrec. Trust me I know, I do a lot of research before I go out and buy something on the internet. I try and find the best deals and Altrec has them.

I have a pair of Timberland leather hikers for 15 years which I love and these boots remind me of them. The EarthKeepers arrived earlier than estimated and they also did run one size larger for me. I am 9.5 and I ordered 8.5. The boots fit just right, not too big, not too small. They have been great in the snow and walking all day.

I wish AltRec had them in my size! I ordered these in 12, got shipped a 13, called to set up a return and tried for 12s in this color, or the dark brown with no luck. Oh well, bought them from another site, but AltRec's customer service rep was top notch. Like most Timberlands, they run very large, I wear a 13 in everything except these.

I've had the boots for about a year now and they still look just as good. The leather is of good quality and is very stylish. A few problems I have though are: 1) the sole wore out pretty quickly from walking in concrete 2) not completely waterproof, water can get in through the sides of tongue of the shoe. Apart from those two, the boots are still very stylish.

December 08, 2010

I have never worn boots before so I was looking for a pair that would be confortable, good looking and that would last long. After reading the reviews on the site I found out that these boots were the ones for me. They are really comfortable. It is true what the other people say about these boots running kind of big so make sure you order them one size smaller. I normally wear 10.5 in any other shoe but with these boots I had to order them on 9.5 and they fit just right plus I wear orthodicts so they just fit perfect. Im really happy with my purchase. I may purchase a second pair on a different color that is how much i like these boots.I hope this review helps anyone.

Great-looking boot, but huge!
November 29, 2010

I love the way this boot looks, but it runs big, and I mean really big! I'm a true 8.5. I wear a 9 in running shoes and, occasionally, an 8 in dress shoes (and Chuck Taylors) that run big. I first ordered these boots in an 8.5. They were really big. I figured they were mis-sized and returned them. Next, I ordered an 8. Again, waaaay too big. At that point, I gave up and moved on to a different brand. A shame, 'cause I really wanted to keep them.

Great "around town" boot
November 20, 2010

I've been wearing these boots for about a month and can honestly say that I'm quite the fan. Not only do they look good, I've had more than one friend comment on the great style, but they're comfortable as well. While they wouldn't be supportive enough for any type of backpacking, they're easily my choice for normal days around town. One word of advice, these boots really do run large. I'm usually a 9.5 or 10 and had to size down to an 8.5 size 9. Once I found the correct size they became my go-to shoe for every day living.

Pros: Great design
