I like very much, but footwear is always an individual thing. These are comfortable and look good. Don't know yet about the gore tex waterproofing. Have the 106 which don't breath as well. Sweatier feet. Hold your nose...

Versatile Shoe
November 17, 2011

These shoes are great for everyday use, hiking and even running long distances. They are very comfortable and well waterproofed. I have had North Face shoes for years now and they are no different than ones I've had in the past; they take a beating and hold up great.

Confidence in North Face shoes
July 22, 2011

Bought these shoes last minute before heading to Alaska. Have had 2 other pairs of similar NF shoes. Took a day and a half to break in and I absolutely love them. Will buy another pair now and store in the basement. Last 2 pairs lasted a long time and are built comfortably and solid.

Pros: comfort, durability

Possibly the best trail runners on the market!
July 13, 2011

The North Face Ultra 105 GTX XCRs are fantastic! I highly recommend them for true, hard scamble trail running; however, they are just as great (and comfortable!) for everyday wear. The Gore-Tex feature is awesome, too. Superb product!

My second pair of North Face Ultra's
June 21, 2011

This is my second pair of North Face Ultra GTX XCR Trail Running Shoes, but not because the first pair are completely worn out. Like all consumer goods, shoes wear out at different rates. The only issue with my first pair is a separating of the toe guard in the center on both shoes. These shoes became my favorite the moment I put them on and have become my daily choice. I show them no mercy just short of outright abuse. They are very comfortable for an aggressive trail shoe yet are flexible and rigid enough to withstand heavy pounding. I really need the Gore-Tex waterproofing for rain wear and occasional dousing with a water hose - they simply do not leak and keep my feet warm. I'll buy a third pair when the time comes.

Pros: comfortable, durable, waterproof, rugged

Love these shoes
May 30, 2011

I had a pair of the previous version of these shoes for several years and wore them all the time. Very comfortable, durable, and love that they are waterproof. When they wore out I looked around but ended up settling on North Face again. They fit the best, look great, and work perfectly for me!

Great Shoes
May 18, 2011

I've had 5 pair of North Face train running shoes and these are by far the best yet. Great support/stability in the ankle, waterproof enough for deeper puddles, reinforced toe bumper, and light enough to not be cumbersome. Also, a lot of shoes for trail running don't have metal eyelets, but these do and it makes a big difference. The laces stay tied, and the shoes will hold up better over time. Great buy from a great company. I've placed 4 more orders since receiving these and have a GREAT experience every time!

I really liked the look of the shoe from the website, and wasn't disappointed when they arrived. Very well put together, I can tell I will own this shoe for a long time (that is once I get the right size). Apparently North Face shoes run very small. I ordered a size 13 and was afraid they would be too BIG (I usually wear a 12.5). When i tried them on, I was surprised that they were actually too small, so I need to upsize to a 14. I've never had to wear a 14. Must be a North Face thing!! The purchse experience was seamless as always, and arrived in time also. Hopefully the replacement process is just as good

Nice change
February 28, 2011

I have been wearing the Hedgehog style shoe for years now and had to change because I couldn't get my size anymore. The Altrec representative told me about the Ultra 105 so I tried them. So far they are extremely comfortable and I look forward to wearing them every day of the year like I did the hedgehogs. Yes I wear these shoes every day of the year except when I have a suit on and that's only once or twice a year. I have high arches and a hard time finding shoes to fit and be comfortable and these are perfect for me. The North Face shoes even hold up to my lab chewing on them. I will continue wearing these shoes as long as I can get them.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Great value

great shoe

I bought these for everyday use in the winter. They're very comfortable and with all the snow we've been getting, they've kept my feet warm and dry. Will definitely look for another pair of these when the time comes.

Great for trail running under wet conditions
January 31, 2011

I am 1.71m and 73kg. I run 3-4 times a week on trails. The traction of the shoes gives me an infallible confidence even on considerably wet trails, hence I can run at my own pace without the anxiety of slipping. In addition, the Gore-tex material proved to be very water-resistant as it is able to keep my feet dry even after I run over big puddles of water approximately 5cm deep. Besides, considering these are trail running shoes, the sole is considered quite flexible and I have not experienced any sore in my feet after 2 weeks for running so far.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance
Comfort: 5 / 5
Durability: 5 / 5
