Buy these...then choose your shoes/boots.

I have three pairs of the Sole EV footbeds. I use them in my running shoes, daily commuter shoes, and my hiking boots. They can be used without the molding process, which I tried, but I believe they truly shine when you custom mold them. The molding process is simple, just follow the directions. When you custom mold the footbeds they not only conform to your feet, they also conform to the inside of your shoe, making the shoe feel as if it were custom made around your foot. I use size 10.5 shoes so I bought the size 11 footbed and trimmed them down just a tad. They are also re-moldable so you can use them again in another pair of shoes (so long as they fit after trimming.) They do take some getting used to if you are used to shoes with little arch support. After a couple of days in them though I simply won't go back to stock footbeds.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useAmazing!!

I have plantar fascitis really bad and I was recommended these by a podiatrist. These have really helped my sore feet. I am an RN that works 12 hour nights and after these 12 hours of wearing these my feet don't hurt. They really support my high arch. I have purchased these 3 times. Will continue to buy them.
Pros: Performance, Great valueGreat insole for the flatfooted!

These insoles work as advertised. They'll mold to your feet over time or you can speed up the process and bake them to your foot. But be warned, they add significant height to your heel placement in whatever shoes/boots you put them in. This may cause your footwear to no longer fit as well. They reduced my overall feet fatigue. However, I lost some ankle support as my feet no longer sat as deeply into the boots. They ended up working better in trail runners where extra ankle support wasn't an issue.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of useHighly recommended

Soles insert user for >4 years. Very comfortable with perfect amount of support. These thicker footbeds are perfect for work/urban boots for daily wear. I have them in all my favorite shoes/boots; they last 2-3x longer than footware themselves!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of useGood support

These footbeds provide good support and are thick enough to improve fit in some cases. The "moldability" feature seemed a bit overrated though, and I found that a couple days of wear seemed to do a better job.
Nice Footbeds

Pros: Performance, Ease of useGreat support

I have knee, ankle, and arch issues and so I wanted to add support to my shoes. These are so incredibly comfortable. When I first put them on, I felt like I was walking on plush springs. They lose their spring-y-ness after a couple of weeks, once they are broken in, but they are still comfortable as the longer you wear them, the more they mold to your feet. They are pretty think, so you definitely have to be able to take out your shoe inserts, as opposed to adding them on top. I wear them with Toms shoes a lot, but unfortunately they get kind of stinky when I don't wear socks :( That's my problem though! I highly recommend these, as did my physical therapist after my knee surgery.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueSupport over moldability

As with any quality orthotic/footbed, proper positioning of the foot should be the goal. Your foot will be more comfortable if it functions correctly. Sole ultras are as good or better than Superfeet for my high arch/instep foot type. Both products should be considered as per your foot configuration and application. Having been trained to fit orthotics, I have worked with and utilized numerous brands. My conclusion is that both Sole & Superfeet will "customize" over time, but the orthotic positioning of the foot and support are far more important than this subtle molding feature.
