Good all around goggles
April 07, 2012
Bought these goggles as my previous ones were fogging up in cold weather. So far, the Phenom Turbo Fan has worked great. It has a pretty good helmet fit with my Smith Maze helmet. The field of vision is adequate, could be a little better but it's good enough. I got them with the ignitor lens which is a good all around lens. The fan does help if the goggles fog a little. It has two speeds, the first speed is pretty silent and the high speed does have a buzzing sound. Some people complaint about the sound but you are not supposed to let the fan running on high all day. You basically turn it on when goggles fog up and in a minute or two they are clear and you can turn the fan off or back to low. I guess Smith can improve a little on the fan noise for those picky riders but it doesn't bother me much as it's only for a minute or two. I think these goggles are pretty good all around and a good buy.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueSpeed Riding at Heavenly Ski Resort in Lake Tahoe

These goggles were perfect for my first crack at speed riding. The fan was awesome for keeping my goggles fog free while I struggled with un-tangling my canopy at the top of Ellie's at 10,040ft in freezing conditions. Here's the video of my adventure (minus the struggling): http://youtu.be/lIWTpI9hkxE Thanks Altrec!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance
