Happy Feet
March 24, 2012

My first time out with these socks was a long trail run. The best socks are ones that you never have to think about out on a run and those are these. They stayed in place without slipping regardless of varied terrain and even getting wet at times. Very comfortable and make my running feet happy.

Amazing Socks
December 07, 2011

Can't even begin to tell you how much I love these socks. Have now bought them in several colors, but the fit is incredible. The socks have darting at the heel and toe that help them stay exactly in place and there is no slipping of the sock into your shoe at the heel. I usually have a major problem with that, but there is a bit of a thicker lip at the top of the heel so it doesn't slide down. The socks also breathe incredibly well and you would forget you're even wearing them. I'm also impressed with these socks because they're made in USA.

Running Ultra Light Micro Socks
October 26, 2011

These socks feel marvelous in hot weather, just weightless. They do not slide backwards into your shoes because a small protrusion in the back keeps them in place without any annoying discomfort. The only reason I returned these is that I didn't care for the colors available. I like socks to be inconspicuous on my legs in shorts or capris. The "natural" looks almost white, which stood out against even my fair skin. If they had these in the "oatmeal" color, I would have stocked up. Other than that personal issue, I highly recommend these and other Smartwool socks.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
Comfort: 5 / 5
Durability: 5 / 5
Quality: 5 / 5

These socks are great for running. They don't slip, they're not bulky, and they last forever! I can wear these on both hot and cold days, and because they're Smartwool, my feet stay dry and comfortable.

cannot get enough!
September 13, 2011

I originally "splurged" and bought ONE pair of these and realized I couldn't be without them. I was continuously washing my ONE pair because I always wanted them to mountain bike and run in. I finally decided to break the bank and buy more. Yes ~ they are expensive, but worth every penny. I had cotton socks on while mountain biking and went through a stream and then realized I needed more smartwool socks! They dry fast, keep your body temperature comfortable and are perfect for traveling. You cannot go wrong. I am a size 6 - 6.5 foot and order a size small.

SmartWool products never fail to impress me. I own other SmartWool socks and these met my expectations, extremely comfortable, durable, and suitable for exercise regardless of temperature.

Thin but Great!
August 29, 2011

I was apprehensive about this sock because it is thin but to my surprise it was comfortable and cool all day long. I have hiked and run in this sock for 5 miles and worn them all day with no issues or chaffing. SmartWool never fails!

Perfect summer running socks
July 18, 2011

Turn down the top edge of these socks and you will find a subliminal message knit into the border - "Feels Good". And they do. They have just enough cushioning in the sole without making my shoes feel stuffed. They breathe beautifully and keep my feet cooler than synthetic socks. I wear a 10AA running shoe, and the medium size works best for me.

A good sock but wears quickly.
July 15, 2011

I love smartwool socks but if you're an avid trail runner you will eventually see them begin to wear at the ball of your feet. Having said this, I still like the thinness of the PHD micros in comparison to other brands, which tend to be bulkier.

Pros: Great design
Cons: Wears quickly, Cost
Comfort: 5 / 5
Durability: 5 / 5

Great Socks
June 06, 2011

Was looking for some high quality socks for hiking. Ended up using them for two sprint triathlons. Wore them w/absolutely no problems. No rubbing or chaffing, even with wet and dirty feet. And the kicker - they didn't smell afterwards. Incredible. Cleaned up just fine. (Can't wait to use them on the trail.) Initially was concerned about the slightly higher tab in the back, but didn't notice it at all. They're pricy, but in my mind, worth it in performance. Not accustomed to giving such high marks, but these are great socks. Would highly recommend.

great socks
May 13, 2011

I have used these socks before ( also smart wool skiing socks which are great) and like them because they give my toes room to breath and do not compress them. I have a wide foot and when my forefoot is compressed my morton's neuroma hurts. These work very well. However , I need more cushioning than the ultralight provides and am going to try the light cushion which is what I think I bought a few years ago.

Pros: Great design, Performance
Cons: Wears quickly

Smartwool Ultralight Running Socks
January 03, 2011

I have always gotten blisters and had a sweaty, cold and all-around uncomfortable sock-experience while running and hiking with normal socks. I have bunions and wide feet, and maybe this is why.. anyways, I finally spent the money on Smartwool and its definitely worth it. They keep my feet super dry, blister free and are very very comfortable. I have them in all different sizes for my various sock needs, and plan to keep stocking up on more. Disclaimer: My boyfriend has bought a pair that wore holes really quickly, but we weren't sure why. I wear mine more than he does and have never seen any wear in them. That is the only con I am aware of so far.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

Great brand, great price, great selection. Altrec couldn't be beat.

love these socks
August 17, 2010

I absolutely love the socks - they feel great and my feet love them too. My only complaint would be the sizing; more information than "s, m, or l" could be helpful, especially considering I got them and there was more information on the packaging. Mine are too big, but I still love them.

True to fit. Great Socks!

Would purchase again, perfect lightweight hiking sock for summer.

Great sock for sport and everday use
May 04, 2010

These are very comfortable socks. I've worn them for golf, walking, and bicycling and find them very comfortable. All my socks are made by Smartwool and these meet my high standards for Smartwool socks.

great for running and workouts
December 28, 2009

These socks are very breathable. They also keep your feet very warm.

Great for general wear or working out...
December 13, 2009

I would recommend this sock to anyone who wants a good breathable sock to workout in. I run over 6 miles a day and these socks did a good job of ventilating my feet. They are not very cushioned as they are the "ultra light" or meant for cold weather but they are still a great quality workout or general wear sock.
