Great agressive shoe.
February 02, 2012
The instinct is a great aggressive shoe that really allows you to grab and pull with your feet. The rubber seems super sticky so far and has become plenty sensitive after a few wears. The rubber on the heel, sides, and toe seems really soft and sticky so it should be good for hooking and smears. It has performed well in the gym and spectacularly on the horrible dime edge heinous smear footholds of PA diabase rock. I am short and have small wide feet. Scarpa is the only brand I have found where i can get a good fit in a high end shoe. With most other brands of climbing shoes, i cannot get my wide foot into the small size that i need. Especially with the lace ups, i can really loosen them up and get a nice "comfortable" fit.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceGood for wide feet

I got these about 2 weeks ago and have really been impressed by the way they have been designed. i find them to be very wide in the toe box, and to me that is one of the most important things to me in my climbing shoes. they edge well and fit snugly without being so painful that you want to tear your feet off. only complain is that i think the grip 2 wears to fast but i know that is not Scarpas' fault.
Pros: Great design, Performance
