Mutiny Helmet
January 15, 2012

Great helmet. The helmet is one of the comfiest helmets I've ever sported. Comfier then the Bern competitors. But my brother says it does not fit him very well. So i think it is your head shape. I haven't have the helmet very long, but it seems to be holding up great. Even though there are clever vents on the brim, it still can get kinda hot. The quality is like any other Burton apparel, fantastic. One side-note though: don't get the "Redphones". They work great for a season, but after that they just stop working.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Great value
Cons: can get hot

Quality and style
December 30, 2011

Having avoided buying a helmet for a number of seasons based on the bulky bike helmets I'd seen people sporting on the mountain this year I decided to take the plunge with the Red Mutiny based on its low profile silhouette and compatibility with my Anon goggles. Wearing it around my house the interface with my Anon Figment goggles is excellent and I'm really happy with the fit and look. Chin strap is also super comfortable. Build quality seems great (as you'd expect from Burton) and really looking forward to giving it a workout on my next trip. Was tossing up the Red Mutiny vs the Bern Baker but ultimately the features of the Mutiny (including goggle gasket/Anon compatibility and the reasonably cheap aftermarket audio upgrade) got me over the line.

Pros: Build quality, Ease of use, Great value
Comfort: 4 / 5
Durability: 4 / 5
Performance: 5 / 5
Quality: 5 / 5

Sleek Helmet
December 29, 2011

Definitely a low profile helmet. Looks very sleek and stylish, avoiding the mushroom head appearance some other helmets tend to give off. This thing keeps your head warm all day and when it gets too hot you can open up the vents or take out the removable ear pads. Love that feature. Paired it with my anon goggles, creates a good seal with the helmet and no awkward gaps that let air in. I seriously love this helmet!!!

Pros: Great design, Build quality
Comfort: 1 / 5
Durability: 3 / 5
Performance: 3 / 5
Quality: 2 / 5

Not for Me
September 29, 2011

This helmet did not fit me so great, could be just the shape of my head. The helmet was low profile and lightweight, I'll give it that. I never ended up wearing this out to the mountain so I can't speak on any performance, but having compared this to a Bern Watts helmet, I would say quality wise the Mutiny was a step down. If your head shape fits the helmet though, I'm sure you won't have any issues.

Stylish helmet on the hill
April 23, 2009

Super light helmet, with a nice brim at the end. I got a small, but could probably have gotten a medium. They fit a little larger than the other RED helmets, the Small didn't pinch my head like the other RED helmets, but a Med would have fit better if I wear a liner or want to fit in a toque. Doesn't make your head look like a bobble head, and is super light on the hill, be careful with which goggles you use though, anything with a clamp on the strap at the back (ie. Smith) won't work unless you get a helmet/strap helper/extender.

Great helmet
January 02, 2009

10 out of 10 for comfort. Keeping head cool or warm also gets a 10 out of 10. The biggest problem is that if you want to put your goggles on your forehead when riding the gondola the goggles slip off your head. Larger lense goggles like dragons and oakly. A better note though is that the helmets vents are awesome if you need to cool down. The ear muffs can be taken out if you have a hot day. In person the helmet looks awesome.
