Love the warmth!
February 06, 2012

I have several pairs of capilene 2 and 3 baselayers, but the older I get, the colder I seem to become!! I finally bought these for a trip to Canada (skiing) and they worked perfectly - not too bulky but extremely warm. And they work great as leggings under skirt.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

Perfect Baselayer for tall women!
December 16, 2011

I've been looking for a non-bulky and warm baselayer for skiing and am so happy to have found this one! I am 5'9" and 140# and the medium fits perfectly - I have long legs and these pants are long enough (YEY!). The inside of the pants is super soft (and warm) and the outside has more of a smooth finish (so it won't stick to top layers). I wore them skiing today and they were perfect. Highly recommend these!

Best Cold Weather Baselayer
November 14, 2011

After tent-camping for a week in the Smokies in early/mid November, I was so very glad that I had the Cap 4 baselayer!! It got down to 20 degrees outside and 32 degrees inside the tent. I wore the baselayer to sleep and then, layered my hiking clothes over it in the mornings and I stayed warm and toasty. Soft and comfortable, NOT bulky....easy to layer over. Smooth outer material finish made sleeping and moving in sleeping bag a breeze. Well-made and good fit. No "low-riding" on the backside noticed. Highly recommend for cold weather.

Very awesome liner, It's the warmest baselayer I owned. I almost wear it everyday in last winter. Although I own a old version one, I don't hesitate to buy this new version one, it 's more breathable and quick dry than old one as its materials was changed. Without any doubt, it absolutely is my best favorite liner in the winter.

A great liner for under ski pants; appropriate weight and warmth for mid-winter skiing or other outdoor winter sports. No suprises with fit remains true to size after washing.

Nice tight.

The warmest bottoms I have owned at this weight. Comfortable and good-looking around the legs but a little longer. I will definitely buy another pair next winter.

Excellent value and quality
February 26, 2011

If you've priced base layers you know they are pretty expensive. These are also pricey but incredible value for the level of quality. They're so warm and so thin you can wear them under anything. They're also a great length. Would recommend them to anyone.

Warm and Comfy!
January 04, 2011

I usually wear a medium, but I ordered the large for the length in the legs as I'm 5'10". The length is great but it is a little large in the waist. These are warm, comfy, and lightweight... everything you'd expect from Patagonia!

Best long underwear bottoms ever
December 31, 2010

I bought these for my wife based on my experience with them. I have a pair that is 16 years old! It was the first long underwear I ever purchased. They are still the layer I always wear when I go skiing. The outside is still reasonably smooth, and the inside is still fuzzy - they are still warm most importantly. A lot has changed in 15 years, but the fabric seems the same and the construction is almost identical. The flat elastic waist is a great feature to reduce bulk at the waist. Also, it's hard to find tights these days, everything is boot cut - fashionable but not so functional in the cold. These are basically polartec powerstretch tights - so compared to other similar products, the price is reasonable, if not a bargain. I'll buy another pair if mine ever wear out!

These wonderful leggings have kept me super warm during the early winter cold temps we've been having in the Catskills. So very comfortable. Pull them out of the wash, hang em up to dry and you can wear them in 15 minutes!!!
