Great Buy

I love this pair of underwear. I bring it with me on all my backpacking trips. It easy to wash, dries fast, doesn't hold odors and most importantly it's very comfortable!!!! I would definitely recommend this product.

Earns their name!
December 26, 2011

They aren't kidding when they call these "Barely Bikinis." They are so light and comfortable, you might forget you have them on. They fit great and stay put. I usually wear a medium bottom/size 6-8 depending on the cut of other Patagonia items and the mediums fit great! I haven't had these very long, but I can see where they might suffer in the durability department. The material is very fine and the flat lock stitching can be prone to snags. So far they have survived one trip through the washer/dryer just fine though.

feels so good
December 01, 2011

These undies feel so good. I love the fabric. The down side is that the fabric is not very durable. I probably won't buy any more. I mostly wear medium/6 in Patagonia and the medium was good.

These are fabulous!
October 14, 2011

Sooo comfortable! I originally bought these to wear on backpacking trips or bike rides but I wear them all the time! Definitely an upgrade from my VS cotton bottoms! They wash really well too---worth the money. I'm a size 6 in Patagonia and most other "outdoors" brands, and I order the medium. They fit perfect! Will buy again!

Comfort: 5 / 5
Durability: 4 / 5

Best. Underwear. Ever.
July 05, 2011

Cute. Comfortable. Weighs Nothing. Dries Quickly. Stays puts. Actual bikini cut (not grandma cut). Barely there. What more can I say? I wear these every day, both active and casual - love them. I ordered more. Worth every penny. Just wish they offered them in more colors/prints/etc like the active hipsters.

Pros: Great design, Lasts forever, Performance
Comfort: 5 / 5

Fabulous Undies
June 26, 2011

Great underwear that don't creep up! The Barely Bikini's are super comfortable, moisture wicking, & light weight so they work very well in hot weather and for outdoor activities/sports. They are a very low rise so if you are looking for a little more coverage the Barely Hipsters may be a better fit for you. I typically wear a size 0-2 in pants and the Small fits perfectly.

Pros: Performance, all day comfort, moisture wicking

Best active underwear ever!
June 08, 2011

'Nuff said... These are a super comfy, thin, stretchy material that wicks sweat and looks good under shorts and pants. These are a lighter material than the Active Hipster and Brief. If you have to wear underwear when you're going to move and sweat a lot, I highly recommend the Barely Bikini! I bought the Barely Hipster too but don't like the fit and style as much as the bikini.

Pros: Great design, Performance

SO comfortable!!! and they don't move at all. It felt better than going comando. Also very cute. I have always scoffed at buying more spendy underwear, but they are so worth it. I will certainly be buying more.

Like wearing nothing!
April 09, 2011

I love these; after testing my first pair a few times I bought a couple more. They are super comfy, minimize panty lines and stay put (read: no adjusting!). These are great for travel, since they are very light and dry quickly if you need to hand wash them. I'm 5'4", 120 lbs, and the small fit perfect. Highly recommended!

Pros: Build quality, Performance, very comfortable

My favorites
November 26, 2010

These are my favorite underwear by far...I keep buying more! They are so comfy...I am about a 28 waist and take a medium in these. Patagonia does tend to run on smaller side...

Best active underwear ever!
October 13, 2010

I absolutely LOVE the Barely Bikini for active sports! They're super lightweight, stretchy, comfy, and ultra breathable. I wash them with my other clothes and then hang them to dry in no time. A little too thin to double as swim bottoms but perfect under shorts or even yoga pants. Wish I could get them in nude for wearing under light-colored shorts/pants.

awesome for running and every day!
April 29, 2010

fabulous. i am a long distance runner and not only do they keep you dry, they stay in place perfectly. i may just start wearing these daily!

FANTASTIC!
April 25, 2010

these are the best synthetic underwear i've ever worn! so comfortable, fairly chic, worth the high price! i love wearing these even when i'm not on the trail.

great buy
April 06, 2010

I was pleasantly surprised when I tried out the barely there bikinis. These are super comfortable, soft, and don't hug too tight anywhere in order to keep them "in place". They definitely stayed in place, didn't ride up, and seem to wick well. I have only put them through 1 wash cycle, so hopefully they'll continue to hold up. In addition, they are super cute and fit well under any clothing, low-waisted or not. I haven't had to worry about them showing under clothing. A great buy!

Great fabric and color, fit well
March 21, 2010

I bought them in the Nima plum color because I also have the matching bra which I absolutely love. The fabric and color of the panties are great, such is the fit. For my liking however, they are slightly too low-rise. I think they are worth their money and will work well under various demands, so I would still recommend buying them.

Best outdoor panties ever!
February 05, 2010

I've tried a lot of outdoor/travel panties, and *these* are the very best. Very compact, extremely quick-drying, don't get smelly when I sweat. I've used them for backpacking and trail running. They are very low-rise, so I can also wear them under my lowest-rise jeans. They don't ride up. I can barely tell they are there. Thumbs up.

Worth the price
January 10, 2010

I have to say the $20 price tag seemed really high for a pair of panties. But if they did what they said, kept you fairly dry by wicking moisture away, I thought it might be worth the investment. After getting them and trying them out on a short 6 mile run, I'd say they're worth it. I can't wait to try them out on a double digit mileage run in high heat and humidity, as that will be the true test. They're soft, silky and you can't even tell you have them on. They fit well under running tights and don't ride up or bunch up. I'm really glad I ordered more than one pair.

perfect bikini coverage that
December 27, 2009

Bought these for my teenage daughters who felt Pat. active briefs showed above their low cut pants. They loved light fabric and coverage of essentials that really "stays put"

perfect for active vacationing
December 20, 2009

I brought two of these on a "spa week" vacation. Perfect for the gym and hiking, and they dried very quickly after hand washing. Worked so well that I bought two more when I got home.

They are comfortable and well fitting
December 13, 2009

Bought them as a gift for someone who has worn them for years and loves them

Lightweight
December 05, 2009

The size "small" weighs 1/2 ounce. The lightweight makes the Barely Bikini ideal for carrying a spare pair in your backpack, every ounce saved in your pack really helps. The Barely Bikini is a great companion to Patagonia's Barely Bra which is lightweight also. The Barely Bikini "small" fits my size perfect I am 5' 6" tall and weigh 106 lbs.

Nice light weight tech wear
June 03, 2009

Patagonia's Barely products are a great light weight technical wear. They are very comfortable wearing and keeps you cool during minimal impact aerobic activities in warmer weather. I have the Barely Bra too and the set is my go-to ensemble for hitting the trails and casual days around town. Very durable, easy care and true to size. Hope Patagonia continues with these products because I think it will be awhile before mine wears out!!
