Great lightweight bottoms
February 13, 2012

I used these on a mt hike under my hiking pants and felt warm and comfortable the entire time. The fit seemed a little loose at first but I never noticed it as we bagged our peak in the local mountains. Patagonia quality is first rate and I expect these to last a long time. Excellent baselayer for active outdoor adventures in a cool climate.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance

Great Baselayer
November 16, 2011

Patagonia makes some fantastic baselayers in the Capilene 1,2,3 and 4 versions. This is the lightweight version and is a comfortable shirt to wear, looks good and does a great job of wicking moisture. Not a warm shirt on it's own but works great as a baselayer. Patagonia considers this a slim fit but I think of it more as an athletic fit, fits snug but not tight. It is not compression fit like some other baselayers.

Good Purchase
November 14, 2011

I have used these for the past couple weeks now since Fall has hit and I really like wearing them. In the morning they make the 40 degrees completely bearable and they don't make me too warm when it's 65 and I'm working. Just what I needed for work, hiking, snowboarding, and being out when it's chilly.

Great product
September 19, 2011

I was looking for a base layer for cool weather hiking but don't like compression clothes like Under Armor. So I decided to get these based on other people's reviews. I was more than pleased when these arrived and I tried them out. I am 6'3" and 185 lbs. These fit just right on me and exactly how I wanted them: Not too loose and not too tight. This allows freedom of movement. They are warm but breath so you don't sweat a bunch. If you do sweat, they wick away moisture. They are also extremely lightweight which is great for packing them at all times just in case you encounter unexpected cold weather.

Patagonia Capilene 2 Bottom
June 02, 2011

Lightweight, quick drying, great for aerobic activities when the mercury drops. I have had mine for five years and when they do wear out, I can recycle them through Patagonia. Can't beat a good performing baselayer that also has a conscious for the environment.

These are my second pair of Capilene pants. I also have a 3. I give a 4 for Comfort because I wish these had a bigger cuff on the bottom of the leg. I fear for stretching. But in all other ways they're perfect...like all Patagonia stuff.

Men's Capilene 2 Lightweight Bottoms
February 23, 2011

Like all the Patagonia products, the Men's Capilene 2 Lightweight Bottoms worked as advertised. I have a top base layer that's thicker than these and it would have been warmer. I don't usually wear a base layer under my pants, so even this this layer helped keep me warm and dry in the drastically varying conditions in Whistler.

Pros: Performance, Ease of use
Cons: Cost

Another Hit with the Capilene Series
December 14, 2010

I can wear these in any sort of weather. I love that they keep me warm without breaking into a sweat, yet comfortably cool when the mercury starts to rise. They do what they're supposed to, and they do it well. Don't waste time or money trying anything else. This underwear is wicked comfortable, comparable only to leather chaps made from clouds, delivered from the heavens.
