Description

Silky-soft Capilene® 1 is the lightest of all our technical baselayers. A master at managing moisture to keep you cool during active use in warm to sweltering conditions, it also helps protect from the sun and acts as an excellent quick-wicking baselayer beneath heftier Capilene® or wool insulation when the mercury plummets. Made from 100% post-consumer recycled (and 100% recyclable) Capilene® 1 polyester, with Gladiodor™ natural odor control. Made in USA. Common Threads Recycling ProgramResearch shows that the environmental impact of recycling worn-out Capilene base layers into new polyester fiber is significantly lower than making that same fiber from virgin materials. Taking into account that worn-out garments are diverted from trash incinerators, making new polyester fiber from recycled garments results in an energy savings of 76% and a CO2 emissions [greenhouse gasses] reduction of 71%, versus creating that fiber from new raw material. Capilene® Core Performance®Capilene base layers afford quick-drying, next-to-skin moisture management for all activities in all conditions ? from high-altitude bivies to sun-soaked water sports. Won't hike without them...!!!
October 20, 2011

I bought my first pair of Pataongia Capilene 1 bottoms when I was hiking the Appalachian Trail. I bought them as an extra layer to deal with the cold weather. They turned out to be my best investment of the entire hike..!! They work great by themself or under a pair of rain pants. They wick away moisture effiently and dry quickly. They fit great, and are very comfortable when I'm running or hiking. When I'm hiking I always them in my pack, they are great to sleep in on warm summer nights..!

Patagonia never fails me
June 20, 2011

I hesitated to buy these but I thought they might be good to wear under work clothes in moderate conditions. They are extremely thin and don't provide a ton of insulation - but that's the point. I wore them through a cold rainstorm under Patagonia Rock Guide pants and it was a perfect combination to keep me cool and dry. The problem with 'trying' Patagonia stuff is that I never end up sending it back!

Comfortable and warm. Much longer than I expected but still works well for someone who is 5'10 with a 30" inseam.

Capilene 1

Excellent Patagonia product, fits a bit loose, but that may make them more comfortable for most people

Great product - I will purchase again.

These have a great fit and feel. The perfect base layer for cool weather hiking, but I plan to use them for sleeping.

Awsome
April 11, 2010

Patagonia Men's Capilene 1 Bottom is the best base layer for cool to warm weather. It will keep you warm in the early morning and keep you dry as you warm up through the day. Capilene 1 can be worn alone or doubled up on really cold spring mornings.

Solid Baselayer.

I am a big fan of Patagonia's Capilene collection, and the warm weather "cap 1" bottoms are no exception. Keeps you cool and dry on warm hikes, and can also serve as an extra layer of insulation during cool weather pursuits.

Whether Im winter climbing, cycling on a cold morning, or ski mountaineering, my Capilene bottoms accompany me. Wearing them allows me move faster and farther with less fatigue because Im not thinking of the cold. These bottoms are geared to my needs.

Great

I live in a very cold area and these bottoms just saved my life. I will need to buy other ones because I just can't take them off. I think it's a must have!!!

I am very pleased with this purchase.

I bought these for my husband. They keep him warm walking to the bus stop and waiting for the bus, but do not make him too warm when he gets inside.

Does the job and is very comfortable!

My husband works outdoors and find these a great resource to keep warm, and comfortable, can be a great base in extreme weather also.

Great base layer!

I bought a pair of these for a climb on Mt. Rainer and used them under a Gore-Tex shell. Worked fantastic. Never was chilled with weather around the single digits. Highly recommended with quality I expect from Patagonia!
