My sister recommended this hat to me when I was frustrated about hats in stores never fitting me comfortably. I have very thick hair which always makes hats feel snug. This hat is great and the draw cord makes it easy to tighten when wearing it on a boat or in other windy conditions. I bought this hat in white, size XL and would recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a great hat.

Love my Solar Roller hat! It's lightweight, super comfortable, customizable fit, stays put even in winds, rim just right width so it won't interfere with my backpack. Very pleased with this purchase!

I have this hat in a size small and it's great. It seems to be one of the few OR hats that fits my small head. I tried the oasis sombrero in size small and it was too big (from crown of head to ears). I love how lightweight the solar roller is, and easy to throw in a backpack. Plus the brim is super lightweight so doesn't get in the way of backpack.

This is a wonderful hat. Its comfortable, attractive, feminine and it fits. I love this hat. I have really thick hair...it fits over all that! The fabric is soft and the adjustable band is stretchy. The brim is easily adjusted. You can fold it and put it in your purse.

Love love love my Outdoor Research hats. Recently moved to Honolulu, and am using one every day for taking kids to the park or beach, fishing on the water, going to Costco, anytime! This hat, compared to my Oasis Sombrero, Sombriolet, and Coastal Sombrero, is lighter, less structured and offers less protection. I keep it in my car and have been really grateful for it on several occasions. The Sombriolet is my fishing/beach hat; great for breathability and coverage, but quite utilitarian-looking (I did need to return mine because of a manufacturing defect, but purchased a new one right away). The Oasis Sombrero is my gardening/car washing hat; great coverage, but not a lot of breathability, so I want to wear it for shorter periods. The Coastal is too hot for this tropical climate, and the other hats are adequate for a short light rain. I have only rarely used it in a thunderstorm, and then only because I had it already. I will likely use it for spring/autumn/winter travel. This Solar Roller hat is very lightweight, wouldn't hold up well in a downpour, gets blown back by a fairly light breeze, but is comfortable and cuter because of the shorter brim. For performance, I would go with the Sombriolet for a tropical climate. I purchase only OR hats because of the size options, features and overall quality!

I like this hat because it's light on my head and provides good sun coverage. I also have a small head and have had trouble finding a hat that actually fits. This hat (I bought a small) fits my head without having to cinch it beyond it's intended size.

This is a great spring/summer hike/dogwalk/beach hat. There is a toggle on the rim to get a custom fit. I got size large so I can stuff all my hair up in the hat, then use the toggle to adjust. If I want to take it off I can just loosen the drawcord and let it hang off my back. Light weight/ fold and pack able. I got turquoise -which is bright and cute, yes this hat is also very cute, also love the flower.

I have a small head and a lot of hats I have bought over the years just don't end up looking good due to having the make an excess adjustment...this hat comes in sizes that FIT. The bill size is good, the hat is light weight, holds its shape and is comfortable. Although it is a women's sized hat it comes in nice earthy colors (I bought the khaki) and not just pink but it still has a "flower" stiched design on the front of the hat...gentlemen, please, that's like putting a rifle design on all men's hats because I'm sure all real men like rifles just like all real women like flowers.

This a nice, lightweight hat that keeps your head cool and packs really well. The brim is wide enough to protect from the sun but is a little floppy when the wind blows.

It is a great hat that I can fold up and put in my bag....it makes it easy to take with you where you go. It is a little warm on your head but it beats having the sun beat down on you. It always looks good even if I have stuffed it in my bag.....

I have a small head & this hat fits great (I ordered a small & it fit like a glove). Wicks moisture as well. I am pleased w/the quality. The blue is very pretty.

I bought this hat in a large, but still found it to look too small on my head. It did not sit down low enough on my head. The Flare/ Dark Grey color is very nice though!

I love this hat. Not only does it provide sun protection but it is also very cute on....love the flower on it. The flare color looks hot pink online but it is actually a very pretty red color....I highly recommend this hat.

I bought the white version of this hat -- it's attractive, lightweight, and feels good to wear. The chin strap is secure. I wear this walking to and from work, as well as on a long car trip once -- my face was protected from the sun, but the brim wasn't SO wide that it interfered with visibility while driving. It also keeps your head feeling cool and not too sweaty/confined underneath the hat.

The Solar Roller is very light weight, has an attractive brim and adjustable sizing. Seemes like it will protect from a light mist or drizzle too. The flower is a nice touch. It will go kayaking and birding with me.

I owned one of these for several years until I accidentally left it on the beach. When I got home I ordered two in different colors so I would never have to do without again. It's light but sturdy, dries off quickly, retains its shape, easily adjustable, nice colors packable. Simply the best I've found. Plus I like the little flower.

Great hat -- I like mine so much that I bought one for all the sun-shy women in my family. One thing to note, the "flame" color looks mauve on my computer screen so I was surprised to open the box and find it bright red!

I bought this for my mom to wear on her daily walks. At first she thought the brim was too big, but now she thinks it's just the right size, with the right coverage. It's hard for her to find a hat that fits. Most hats, even women-specific ones are too big. Kid ones are too small. We ordered the size small. That, along with the bungee cord adjustment provides a good fit. I only wish that this came in a better neutral color. I see that white becoming dingy very quickly.

I bought this hat for a trip to the Caribbean. The hat gave great sun protection for my face and neck, it's light weight, packs great, and the chin strap came in very handy when sailing.

The hat is light, provides UVA/B protection, comes in great color combos and is reasonably priced. XL is hard to find and I have anothber from this mfg. but returned this one as I felt the rim was too stiff and would not hold up to being rolled up well.

I expect this hat will be most useful at the beach, ballpark, etc. and for light trail hiking. The two-cord adjustability is a great plus for securing fit against winds. Rolls and retains shape well. Keep in mind that this is a sun hat, not a rain hat. It held up okay during an initial drizzle, but the rain soaked through to the top of my head soon after. But then, OR doesn't claim to offer wet weather protection in this hat model; it's only for sun and wind and those things it does well enough.

I bought this to use as a convertible-driving hat. The brim having the extra sturdiness of foam is a great benefit to help it protect against sunburn in the air turbulence of top-down driving. The strap keeps it firmly in place, also. The fact that is cooler than many other hats I've tried & looks nice are just great extras!

I am not usually a hat person, but a trip to Central America necessitates the use of head covering. This hat looks great, packs well *and* has UPF protection. I would definitely recommend this hat for those looking for an attractive, reasonably-priced hat for travel.

I bought this hat to use while running to keep the sun off my face and neck. It does a great job blocking the sun, and does breathe well.
