Hiking the Paria Canyon narrows this was a lifesaver. Perfect for the conditions and I don't think I have ever been as comfortable on an extended backpacking trip. I recommend to anyone hiking through water.

Great for my intended purpose
February 16, 2012

Wanted / needed an extra wind barrier & insulation for winter bike commute. They fit the bill to a tee. A bit larger than I was expecting (sizing chart put me in a large, I wear a 42 shoe). They are ok with a liner, but next time I will get a medium.

Pros: Build quality, Performance, Great value
Cons: poor sizing chart recommendation

Great boot liner for kayaking
February 08, 2012

Excellent sock for using as a surfing boot liner. I ordered the size 6-7 desipte the fact that I wear an 8 1/2. Fits nice and tight. Even fits (though borderline too tight) with a very thin polyprolene sock underneath (not really necessary but actually makes it easier to get this sock on and off). I would recommend that if you use a poly sock underneath, order your normal size; otherwise if it is your only sock and want it nice and snug, order 1 size down. Nice finish on the inside (typical Hydroskin). Recommend it over the 2mm NRS Neoprene Sock which I bought a few months (a good sock but not as good as this one).

Hydro Skin sock for barefoot running
December 29, 2011

I bought these for barefoot running. Thin enough to feel the ground and extra room in the toes to not be tight. Water stays off my feet and they stay warm even in the snow. Tight at the top (which is great for what they are designed for) next time I'll by the ones that end at that begin at the ankle, I'm sure to need new ones because of my off design use.

August 25, 2011

These socks are warm and work great under water sandals. Also in the kayak they protect my heels. Great product. Got two pair one for me and one for my husband, he loves them too.

great inside water shoes
August 09, 2011

I wore these inside water shoes (Salomon Techamphibians) during the higher-altitude portions of a Philippine mountain backpack. They were great for extending the temperature range of my shoes, down to about 40 degrees F. Much colder, or with a lot of cold water, and I might go for the thicker version. I'll use them again next time. Much lighter than bringing another pair of shoes. These should be better known. I washed them inside out and had no odor issues.

Nice but too thin for what I need
May 19, 2011

Bought them to accompany my new Fiveten SAR canyoneering shoes. I need them to be a little bit thicker so that they fit better (shoes only come in men sizes and a little too big). So, I'll need to return and get something thicker.

Pros: Ease of use

perfect for rafting
July 16, 2010

Thin enough to wear with your water shoes for rafting...very comfortable

Great neoprene socks
February 12, 2009

These do a great job of keeping your feet warm when the water is cold and the weather is warm. Used with sneakers at 9000 feet.

Works Great
April 05, 2008

Tested in down to 45 degree water, and my feet stayed comfortable for an extended period of time. Works very well, even though it is only .5mm neoprene. The rest of my hydroskin suit works equally well.

Great for Martial Arts !!!
December 30, 2007

I've been wearing these socks at my Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu dojo for a few months now, and they are great! No more broken toes or twisted ankles. They keep my toes from getting individually stuck to the mat, as well as support my overall grip. Unfortunately, they slip when using regulation Judo mats. Otherwise...awesome. I even bought some for my Sensei.

Great buy
August 18, 2007

Fishing mountain streams at 11,000 ft can be tricky. Every day was wet. Around camp inside my camp/water shoes I used these every day for 8 days. They were Great! In streams, feet were cool. Around camp, easy comfort. Ambient temp was 50"F. Feet never got cold. One day we stayed fly-fishing for 5 hr's. I never became uncomfortable, so I didn't stop. Water temp 30's-40's. I'll always have a pair of these in my pack. follow "fitting" advice, fit can be roomy.

Perfect!
July 29, 2007

I bought these for scuba diving to fit under my normal boots when it's colder. I've been diving in 64 degree water and my feet are completely warm! I would recommend these for anything wet and cold!

Worked like a charm
September 16, 2005

I use them for mountain stream wading when flyfishing. It made a HUGE difference. I could actually feel my toes all day long. These socks will get a lot of use in other activities as well. They are well worth the money.

warm and comfy
May 19, 2005

These socks look a bit strange when you take them out of the package, but they fit nice and are comfy in my water shoe. I just spend 5 day's in the canoeing in the Adirondacks with them and they kept my feet warm. This is my first purchase of Neoprene so maybe my next few comments common to others. To fully dry them I had to turn them inside out since water does not easily pass though them. During the prortages they worked great, kept my feet from blisters that I have gotten in the past from the same shoes. My feet did sweat a good bit on the trail and the sock had a pretty strong smell. Overall I am quite pleases with the purchase!
