Pathetic Product
January 08, 2011
I used the product twice on the same clothing. First time, I did NOT follow instructions (i.e. did not wait for machine to fill and then add the foul smelling, milk colored liquid -- I added the liquid before the cycle began). Perhaps (maybe I hallucinated) restored luster, but definitely no water repellence. [Granted this is old, name brand fleece (e.g. TNF, MH, Cloudveil), i.e. all the tags said "Made in USA"]. Second time, with the same clothing minus one jacket, I followed instructions. Again, ran the shower test. Water absorbed within seconds after initially beading off. So, don't expect any water resistance let alone water repellence.
Great product!

I used this on some sweatshirts and two Polartec jackets. Water beads up and dries off quickly. Make sure you use a 2nd rinse and you won't have to worry about a smell on your garments. I will definitely continue to use this product.
great product

This wash really revives my snow clothing. It smells pretty strong out of the bottle but there's no smell on the finished clothing. It doesn't give me an excuse to buy new gear every season.
ABSOLUTELY amazing!!

All I wanted was my "old" goretex shell back!! It's probably 15 years old -- but the one of last times I used it, packing out a total hunting camp in the rain, I was soaked to the skin. I told an old friend of mine(who had once upon a time owned a sporting goods store) about it, and he suggested getting Nikwax. I was a little "wary" about what it would do to the washer....but NO WORRIES! I wanted to get the best bang for the buck -- 5 oz. would do two items, so I threw in a fleece pullover w/ the shell. After the washing machine treatment (SO EASY) I actually dumped water from the faucet on both items-- and gleefully saw the round water balls shedding off both. I'm going to purchase A LOT of this, for all the items that are recommended for use -- can't go wrong (AND, I can return all the little "girly" goretex snowbunny jackets my husband got me for Christmas when I said I wanted Goretex) ---- Nikwax Polarproof gave me back the real parka I wanted.
Great Product, Great Company

I use this stuff once in a while to refresh the waterproofing on my Covercraft, "sunbrella" car cover. I also throw in a pair of pants (poly/cotton blend) to become part of my "stealth" rain gear.
like magic

this really adds water repellency to polar fabrics, enabling them to make the difference between comfort and misery in a surprise drizzle or in high humidity situation.
Works Great!!

Really easy to use and seems to do the trick, brought the beading up and rolling off of the water-proofness back to my 5 yr old columbia jacket with no prob.
Refreshed the fabric wonderfully

Used this to revitalize my North Face Denali Jacket. It appears to have brought life back to the fleece in the jacket after a winter of hard wear. I'll have to wait to see about the renewal of the water repellancy, but I have trust in the product to do what it says it does. I'll keep bying it no matter where I live or what clothing I have to use it on.
Not just for sports clothing!

I use this to water proof the fleece diaper covers for my 3 month old daughter. It works great!
Great product!

Used the product on a motorcycle jacket purchased in europe. Yesterday it passed the test in a downpour. Just what I needed to renew an investment in good sportswear.
Great stuff!

I just washed some of my polar tech jackets in this stuff. It works great. I always get a giddy feeling watching the water just roll off the fabric. It looks so cool. It smells a bit like oil if you don't get it all rinsed out. I usually hand wash my stuff so it won't abuse the fabric so much.
