I am not a hiker, so I cannot attest to this product's use "in the wild." I bought this mug because I wanted a reusable and unobtrusive mug (small, around 10-12 ounces), with a lid, that would fit in my car's cupholder. This mug meets all but one of my requirements - it definitely does not fit in my cupholder. The mug is comfortable to hold and keeps my coffee warm. The lid does not leak. My only con is that there isn't a way to close the drinking hole, so sometimes coffee sloshes out while I'm carrying it. Overall, I'm very happy with this mug.

very lightweight , comfortable to hold . This mug is perfect for nesting and for its insulating feature . It transfer just of enough warmth to warm your hands . The shape is also a great design and the cover stays on

I received this for my birthday and it has come to be one of my best presents of the year. Usually I either used a cheap 1.99 mug from Walmart that got cold after 1 minute, or used my heavier insulated mug which was a pain to bring. This is perfect as it is ultra lightweight yet keeps your beverage very warm. It also fits perfectly into my MSR pot set. This mug will make your morning coffee or evening hot chocolate all the more enjoyable.
