Overall this was exactly what I was looking for in a cool weather climbing tight. Warm, nice stretch and feel. A little lower in the waist than I prefer but not anything that I can't live with. Only thing I would change is the length of the legs..a little short for me 35" inseam but rarely do I find climbing/running tights that fit perfect in the waist and the length. Will be taking them with my on my Red Rocks climbing trip in March.
Pros: Build quality, PerformanceLow Rise

I've used these as tights for cross country skiing and I like them, but they are low rise so they would be better for layering. Super light weight and soft.
Pros: PerformanceFinally Found Them!

Great Warmth for Legs & Derrière! I formally had a pair of fleece pants that I wore down to threads! Couldn't find anything as warm or comfortable as them in any of the major ski stores... I finally found these Power Stretch Leggings online from GEAR! They are better yet, with a reversable water resistant nylon outter lining, and the warmth and comfort of a fleece inner lining. Also, they support your legs with a massaging action as you move. Love them! Wear them almost everyday! Only disappointment is... Too bad they we're cut a few inches longer in length and a smidgen snugger at my hips. I am 140 pounds, and 5' 8" tall; so I bought a size Medium. They fit a bit tight at my calves, therefore have a tendency to creep down at the (low slung) waistline. Otherwise, I would have bought a 10 pair!!! Hope this helps... Will send photo later :)
Pros: Lasts forever, Performance, great warmth!, great support!Great tights

These tights are super warm and comfortable. I've worn them snowshoeing in central Oregon several times, where they kept me warm and dry with no additional layering except lower leg gaiters. They've also kept me comfortable on my twice weekly early morning hikes in the Cascades. I agree with the other reviewers regarding fit. All of my other Mountain Hardware leg ware is a size small or extra small, but I ordered a size large in these, and they fit perfectly. They also ride a bit low on the bum -- not low enough to expose anything -- but I wear a longer top to keep my lower midsection warmer. They really are great winter tights. I ordered a second pair.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueFabulous tights!

These tights are terrific for daily dog walking and around the house and town. The fit is perfect and they are especially functioniable in zero degrees (with added leg warmers ) outside. I love them and bought a second pair after I wore the first pair!!!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueExcellent Quality and Comfort

I have been wearing the Mountain Hardwear Power Strecth Tights for years and they are the best fleece tights on the market - they are soft, warm, wear well and extremely comfortable. They are also true to size. I am 5'-7" and 118 pounds and the Small fit me perfectly - low rise on the waist and a length that sits just above the ankle. I wear them everywhere and only wish I could get them in more colors. Many thanks to Altrec for carrying these tights. This is the only place that I can find these gems.
Pros: Great design, great comfortWarm, Comfortable, Flattering

Polartec® Power Stretch® Tight is unbelivelably warm yet very fitted, slimming and not bulky. Looks great tucked into boots. Fleece lined inside keeps my bum warm. "Compression" effect is flattering.
Pros: Great design, PerformanceGreat tights, keeps you warm

I wear these tights under my snowboarding pants and they are perfect! They run a little small so order a size bigger and the waist is somewhat low but I don't mind.
OK, kind of short.

I like these. They are VERY warm. I have a power stretch hoody (two actually) and these are the same fabric. They are a decent price considering their warmth; I would use them for skiing on very cold days or alone for hiking in the fall (40ish degree days). I am 5'8", around 150 lbs and these are kind of short on me. I guess it doesn't matter but I will eventually find it inconvenient when I wear low sneakers with them. The rise in the front/back/hips is also kind of low. I am usually a size 6 on the bottom and the medium fits me but it is snug. A little more snug than I would normally like. However, I am keeping them as they are insanely warm, I just wish they were a little longer on the top and bottom. Great material though, and so warm.
Pros: Build quality, PerformanceFairly comfortable

I'm 5' tall and 100 pounds. The XS fits pretty well although short in the rise particularly in back. Since it's springtime I'm not sure what I'll wear them for outdoors but they were comfortable for indoor stretching and yoga on a chilly day.
I love them

The medium fits me perfectly. I am 5' tall, 112 pounds. The rise is only moderately low, 1 finger below the navel. I got these tights for cross-country skiing but also found myself pairing them with boots and short shirt for a Seattle "spring" evening. Amazing warmth for the light weight.
poor fit
January 14, 2010
Bought these for my wife in 2 different sizes (a larger one based on the review above)-- be warned, unless you are a woman with no butt and who likes a real "low-rider" fit, do not buy. They are not practical for outdoor use. If one tried to use these for mountain biking-- there would be a serious case of "plumber butt" going on. . . It is a bit confusing because my wife has a version from a couple of years ago that fit great, and indeed are great in all respects. MH seriously needs to change the fit of these pants back to a practical level (i.e., increase the rise dramatically).
Very small
December 29, 2009
These tights run very small. I'm a very small person (24''waist, 34'' hip) and the XS was too small. The rise is also very short. I ordered one size larger and I suggest you do the same. Other than that, I liked how thick and warm these tights are. I will probably wear them by themselves when I go snowshoeing or skiing. Great quality.
