I decided to go with a slightly higher end rain pant, laminated as opposed to coated fabric. I really expected more from these pants for the price. First the fit, it's unfortunate that there is no petite option, meaning I have to put up with about 4" more fabric in the length than I need. Then the rise is weird, shorter than is comfortable even though there is plenty of room in the waist and hips. But the worst thing is they aren't waterproof. Water resistant maybe, I can't say how they'd perform in a downpour, I suspect not too well. I've worn them twice in light drizzle for about an hour each time, and each time came home with my pants damp and with obvious places where the water was seeping through onto my thighs and knees. They will probably be fine as snow shedding pants in the winter. Unimpressed.

I bought these pants for my daughter-in-law for use in multiple outdoor activities. She's worn them skiing and hiking and found them extremely comfortable and breathable. They were thinner than I anticipated ,but appear durable- time will tell. She was pleased that they were lightweight and packable. Overall, a very good buy; she is pleased!

i bought these for my mother, who unfortunately does a lot of her outdoor activity in the rainy pacific northwest, and she loves them. they keep her very dry and warm, but are very breathable as well. highly recommended rain pants. i think i might get some for myself too :)

These are great pants, water & windproof with great ventilation!

I purchased these pants to ensure I'd have some waterproof and very light weight pants to wear as an outerlayer on a trek up Mt Kilimanjaro a week ago (March 06). They were just the right pant! Water and windproof over some heavy polar fleece on the summit at -10 F and 20-30 MPH winds and yet the side zips were great ventilation as not too overheat on the climb up! It was a great purchase and an excellent price! I'll wear them for some spring snowboarding too! Easy on & off and the articulation makes for comfort and flexibility! Will make a great pack pant too!
