Great sweater
February 26, 2012
I always have trouble shopping for sweaters since I have a long torso and most sweaters are too short. This sweater fits great (I am 6' 2" and 215 lbs) in XL without being baggy. It's extremely warm and although it is wool, the t-shirt like lining makes it very comfortable. Looks great with jeans or as a casual sweater for the office. Great product!
Pros: warm, comfortablePerfect

Dress it up; dress it down - this is a great sweater for a day on the ski slopes or for going out for dinner. The usual outstanding quality fit and construction you expect from Mountain Hardware. The fleece lining on the collar is a nice touch. I am 5'5" and 155 lbs and the Medium fits perfectly. I'm a fleece guy, but this sweater is going to be my go-to item on most winter days.

Very comfortable and durable sweater. Extremely soft and warm as well. Arm pocket has very limited uses though. Overall a very nice form fitting sweater.
Sleek & Warm

I'm a trim 5'10" 150 lbs and the medium is a perfect fit. I can easily fit a thin base layer underneath my sweater. I do have one complaint: if you go with the black be careful about wearing it while petting your girlfriend's cats -- you'll be picking white hairs out of your sweater all night. Overall I am pleased with my purchase.
Mountain Hardwear's Mazeno
February 20, 2011
Mountain Hardwear's Mazeno sweater is nicely detailed: it is lined for warmth; it has a rubber handle connected to the zipper for easy "zippage" if you're wearing gloves; and it has a handy hidden pocket in the left arm. I would prefer the mock turtle neck of the sweater to be more fitted around my neck. The opening in my opinion is slightly too wide (it looks unpolished if zipped-up all the way). My neck size is about 15.5. Otherwise, it's a good looking sweater for use as a layer under your ski jacket or by itself while in the ski lodge.
Excellent Choice

I've been on the lookout for a replacement for a similar Lowe Alpine sweater which I've loved but is starting to wear through from abundant use. This is just perfect; a little lighter, a more flattering fit, and the exceptional materials and workmanship I've come to expect from MH. I'm 6"1", 205# (just for reference, I wear a 16.5/34-35 dress shirt) with a slightly longer-than-average torso, and the size large is just long enough so that when I sit at my desk chair it covers up any possible "exposure." The sleeves are perfect length - just over the cuff of any long-sleeve shirt underneath. The fit is close enough that it doesn't look baggy, but still doesn't highlight my deskjob mini spare tire. The materials and construction seem great. The inner fleece layer is very soft but thin - it makes the sweater more comfortable but not too heavy, and allows for better temperature regulation. Without long sleeves underneath, it's more comfortable than most sweaters I've worn but there is still some itch (guess it's the price you pay for a thinner inside fleece). I could do with the MH bolt logo on the left sleeve being smaller than it is. The little bolt accent on the back of the collar is kind of cool though. I got a killer deal on the 'squash' color, which I was a bit concerned about, since I thought it slightly resembled puke or other unpleasant bodily substances. However, it's not as bad as I thought. Kind of a brownish-greenish-mustard color. Not something I initially expected to look as good as it really does. I also like the mix of the rib-knit wool on the shoulders and top of the arms, with the rest being a standard knit. The little zip arm pocket isn't necessary, but I've found good uses for it (chapstick, credit cards, cash, tickets, etc.). The nice thing is that it's fairly incognito, so the sweater is nice enough to wear out on the town without looking grungy -- assuming it's clean :)
Great sweater

This is one of those items that I wasn't sure about by looking at the picture but took a chance because of previous reviews and the description. It is perfect. It fits perfectly (a little form-fitting through torso but I like that) and sleeves are perfect length. Please note, the wool is lined with a very thin fleece which makes it softer (and warmer) than other wool sweaters. And, it looks great! This is a great sweater. I may buy one in Blue next!
Best sweater gift

I gave this sweater to my son-in-law last year and he wanted another one this Christmas. He wears it a lot and loves it.
Nice sweater...

I was looking for a sweater that would function in a cross-over mode between a tactical/casual dress wear. It seems to fit the bill although like "Anonymous", I find the sleeves a bit long...
Love my new sweater

Great sweater - nice fit, good looks, good value. Fits well under a shell or fleece. My second Mountain Hardwear sweater and I wear one of them most of the time in cold weather. Highly recommend.
Wow!

This is a really nice looking and feeling sweater. Soft and smooth to the touch. Well worth the money. Sleeves are a bit long for me, I prefer a 34" length rather than a 35". Still, this is a great addition to my collection.
