I'm 4'11" and 125 lbs. I am a curvy girl. Ordered the boots because the specs said they had a 16" shaft circumference. I checked my calf with a tape measure and 16" should have been fine. When the boots arrived, I couldn't zip them up over my calves. I finally got the right one to zip but the left one went up only halfway. I thought I would maybe get them stretched because they looked so cute. Decided to wear them for a little bit around the house in hopes that they would magically fit. Glad I did because then I noticed that the zipper bunched up and was digging into my ankle. After 15 minutes, I had pain from a raw ankle. These boots are cute but did not fit well. Also, lifetime returns at Altrec are diminished by the fact that you have to pay shipping to return the faulty item. Won't buy from this site again unless absolutely sure.

Love, love, love these boots. I've been looking for some casual, comfortable, waterproof boots and these are the ones! They have a little stretch panel on the top of the shaft to allow for athletic calves. They are waterproof! They are stylish and very comfortable too. They look great with skirts, dresses, leggings and tunics and tucked in jeans. Perfect!

I really like these boots. They are casual. The color is kind of a matte black and not shiny. However, it works for me and what I was going for.. Nice with skirts!

I had been looking for a pair of waterproof "riding" boots for my daughter for Christmas and was having trouble finding a pair that fit the waterproof, riding and teenage daughter fashion description. These fit the bill perfectly. She loves them and wears them all the time. She is only 5'1" tall and thought that might make it a problem but they are perfect height. Now I want a pair! Thanks!

I like these and think they look classy but casual as well. I'm often a 8.5 and sometimes a 9. My toes touched on the 8.5 so the 9 was better for me. I have narrow feet and am average size - 5'7" size 6-8 pants...and the calves fit me fine. I can touch pants in. However, before I returned the 8.5, my mom tried them on. She is never a size 9. the 8.5 was hard for her to get on. Her feet are not narrow, just normal. She did get them on though and then they were fine but too tight in the calves for her to wear any pants in and a little tight without pants in. She's my height and one size bigger... Anyways, I love them in 9. They are a little loose but they aren't very warm so I wear thick socks. Great purchase! When going up stairs I can feel the "belt" on these boots but it isn't bothersome. It might soften up too.

I haven't met a Merrill shoe or boot I haven't loved! The Tetra is sturdy and comfortable without being dowdy. These boots didn't need any breaking in; I walked a mile in them on Day One--no blisters. Beware that sizes run a touch bigger than what you might be used to. The size 7 seemed too roomy. But when I got the 6.5, it was too snug. Plan on wearing thick wool or fleece socks, and you'll be able to wear the size you're used to.

These boots are amazingly comfortable and very cute with skirts. The only real draw back for me is that the calf is too large. I've got over an inch gap. I have smaller calves, so this may not be an issue for girls with larger calves. These boots will get a lot of wear this winter.

This was one of the best purchases I have ever made when it comes to footwear. Apart from being very stylish, these boots are top notch when it comes to comfort and being functional. The fit was very nice! They are a little bit snug around the arch of your foot, but they loosened up every time I wore them. The leg fit great. The picture makes it look as if the calf is very loose, however; I didn't find this to be true. I have medium sized calves and these boots seemed to be tailored to fit my legs exactly! Very waterproof and I am surprised at the amount of traction that the soles have. Literally I don't think I could slip if I tried! All in all- great boot!

Ordered these boots to wear for this fall. I have the Keen Bern Baby Bern boots and wanted something similar in black. The boots are very cute, true to size, and very comfortable. I especially like the straps and buckle around the ankle, which gives it a riding boot look. I didn't have any issue with the ankle or top of the boot being too tight. I'm 5'1" so can't wear a boot that is too long; this is just the right size for me. I'm looking forward to wearing with skirts and tights this fall.

The boot is as described in the description with one exception. I have "athletic" caves and even though these boots were advertised as extra wide, I still couldn't zip. The the actual diameter was only 13.5" vs 15" as described. Other wise the boot is very cushy and would have been a good buy.

Beautiful - work well with lots of different outfits. Comfortable, weatherproof, good traction & warm. They were initially a little snug through the arch & ankle; but stuffing some extra paper in them for a while stretched them out enough. You will definitely want to go up a size if you want to wear thick socks; but they are really warm enough to wear in regular winter weather with regular thin socks.

These boots are gorgeous and I was so happy when I opened the box. Unfortunately, there is no way I will ever be able to get them on. If you have even a moderately high arch, getting into these boots may prove impossible. I tried going up a size, and still no luck. They are cut very snug across the arch and the zipper just doesnt open them quite low enough. Sad ; (
