Description

If you own the Marmot Eos 1P tent, the Eos 1P Footprint is a must have. Protecting the floor of your tent from rocks, sticks, or anything else that might cause damage will prolong the life of your tent and keep you warmer, as a footprint acts as insulation between you and the ground. Take just the footprint, poles and fly and you have a lighter weight shelter if you need to move fast & light.

I purchased this footprint because it is not included with the EOS 1P tent. As stated in the product description, it is fitted specifically for this tent. The material is very thin and it's doubtful that it would actually protect the floor of the tent from rocks, sticks etc - you should always carefully choose your setup site and pick up or brush away sharp objects before you set up your tent - if for no other reason than because you don't want them poking you in the back in the middle of the night. With that said, I have set up this foot print with only the tent poles and rain fly in the middle of a downpour. I was then able to crawl underneath and use a towel to dry off the floor of the footprint, then set up the tent from the inside, keeping the tent and the rest of my belongings dry. First, take off your pack and store it in the vetibule area of the fly. Next unfold your tent on top of the footprint and line up the holes for the tent poles. Hold the ends of the poles tightly while you remove them from the footprint, [ins-ert ]them through the holes in the tent straps and back again into the footprint. When you've done this for all four tent poles, unzip the door of the tent, climb inside, and attach the mounting clips on the top of the tent to the poles overhead. A little contortion is required, but you'll stay dry.
