SOLID
March 13, 2012

Very well made boot with very comfortable yet solid design. Lining is very comfortable, and boot has good width for American shaped foot. Sole is firm and not overly flexible making it a great choice for carrying heavy packs yet just pliable enough to make it an every day user. Top notch craftsmanship and materials should keep this boot in use for a very long time. I have a bad ankle with more titanium than anyone should wish for, and I need good ankle support to keep me going all day. The height of this boot as well as it's construction is very supportive and comfortable. The heel feels a little too wide for my foot, but the toe box has very good width and by adjusting the lacing I can tighten the ankle and heel without being restrictive elsewhere. I would suggest this boot for individuals with problems finding boots with an adequately wide toe box, and looking for taller support or protection than the Lowa Baffin has. (I also own a pair of Lowa Banff Pros, Baffin Pros, as well and Renegades, so I can speak from experience). I have found Lowa boots to be a good investment in footwear.

Pros: well made solid design

Outstanding Mtn Boot
November 16, 2010

If you are chasing Goats or Sheep, you really should consider these leather boots, best I've worn. No they are not as durable as a plastic boot, but they are far more versitile in whatever you are doing around the mountains. A plastic will give you more support while side hilling with a heavy load, but they will tear your shins and feet apart on lower flat levels. You don't have to be a hunter to use them, I weekend climb and hike in mine. The sizing seems to run a tad small, they are one of the few boots offered in a wide (a big plus). Remember when trying them on, your feet will swell when you climb. I wish they fitted all climbing campons, but they work fine with Kahtoola campons. The breakin period is fast, acouple trips for me. They are water proof (A+). I don't think they are to expensive, considering how many pairs of boots you'll buy in the $250 range till you finally buy these. I do feel they are slightly better than Kenetrek, my friend has a pair of Kenetrek (I've never wore). Other boots that I've owened and used are Scrarpa, AKU (no longer available in US) and La Sportiva. I think when and if I wear these out I'll get another pair,

Awkward Sizing
November 09, 2010

I was very disappointed that I had to send this boot back. The size just wasn't right. It seems to run a little smaller than usual. I'm hoping the next size will work, I've heard that it's a great boot.

Great Preliminary Results
August 10, 2010

These boots are surprisingly light for the amount of ankle support and foot "anchorage" they offer. I have wide and irregular feet, and the 10.5 (W) that I purchased are extremely comfortable and yet stabilizing--in both feet. I can't wait to hunt in them in the Rocky Mountains!

The most comfortable boot..
December 28, 2009

I bought these thru zappos and they are so comfortable and warm, it is unbeleivable. I hated to take them off. Your feet stay dry in a snowy day and warm. Simply a BEST BOOT.
