comfortable but lacks arch support
February 02, 2012
The rubber was great and the shoe was comfortable, but there was not much arch support. Even with my own arch support insert, the shoe was slightly large for an approach shoe, even with hiking socks, so I had to return it. Overall, the shoe seemed to be of good quality, but the next size down was no longer available when I returned it.
Love these shoes

Starting into my second year of avid climbing I decided to invest in some approach shoes. So far I LOVE these. The traction on rock is fantastic, they are very durable, and work well for scrambling or easy pitches. The soles are very stiff but break in nicely. Unless you don't need any cushion what-so-ever plan on having to put in new insoles (the ones that come in them are about 1/8" recycled cardboard). Also, I have re-laced mine because the laces that come in them, although light, have a tendency to slip and are hard to get the proper tension out of. Overall, I would highly recommend these shoes to anyone looking for a light, durable pair of approach shoes. Happy climbing!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, comfortableCrux grip approach shoes
