odor resistant and so comfy
March 23, 2012

I bought this bra mainly for a ski holiday to keep me warm and ended up wearing all the time because it is so comfy and never stinks! I only wish it would offer more support, it is ok for ski touring and skiing but not enough support for running. I wear merino wool a lot in the winter and this is the perfect addition to a merino base layer. Regarding sizing I am a 34B and the medium fits me perfect.

great if you are not too buxom
March 13, 2012

too small and not supportive enough for me, size 38 D, but my teen daughter absolutely loves this and does not ever seem to take them off. So much for using it for outdoor pursuits only, I am not sure she will ever use her (organic) cotton bra again. Large size fits her great, maybe a 36 B or C? Wish they made a larger more supportive version for me, but glad to find something she likes so much.

Very comfortable and not as hot as my technical-fabric sports bras. It also wicks sweat better than they do. Yes, it's a little tight, but no more than any other well-fitting sports bra. I'm a 34A and went with the small because I don't need a lot of support and therefore don't need quite as tight a fit as some. Bonus: the light gray is truly opaque and can be worn in public without another shirt over it.

Ditch the nylon polyester!
March 04, 2011

Yes, a wool bra is comfortable. Yes, it does not chafe, shift, hitch, bind, scratch, shrink or do the myriad other things that their nylon/polyester counterparts do. These bras are just pure comfort, so much so that I wear them under work clothes. (Only works if you're wearing something with a high neck.) If you sweat, they breathe and dry, and isn't that what sports bras are supposed to do?

Pros: Great design, Performance, breathes

Superb!
February 20, 2011

I use this bra for road cycling and for the gym, and it's the best sports bra (for these activities) that I've ever had. I love it! It's super comfortable--it does ride up a little under the bust at times but because the fabric is so soft and stretchy, it's not annoying or irritating. It wicks moisture well, getting wet but not leaving my skin at all clammy or cold. It doesn't hold odors, and it washes well. It provides excellent, SHAPLEY coverage for me under cycling jerseys, too, thus preserving modesty, which can be hard to come by with snug bike jerseys, without distorting my shape or causing the dreaded uniboob. It's attractive on and doesn't show through tops very much either. And it provides plenty of support for me during moderate-impact exercise. But I would definitely agree with other reviewers that this bra runs small and is probably best for A/B cups...and if you are any larger than a 36 B, I'm not sure this bra will fit you. That's my size, and I had to exchange the M I originally ordered for a L because the straps were too tight in the shoulders and back on the M. The L fits perfectly all around, but this is the first time in my life I have worn a size L bra!! Aside from the sizing, though, I can't find a single thing to complain about in regard to this sports bra--and that's another first! It's really the best one I've ever had.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, shapely
Cons: runs small

Ibex bra
December 28, 2010

Super soft, warm, comfortable and wicked moisture away and kept me warm working out in the cold winter weather (38-40 degrees). Can't wait to wear it cycling. I used it for running and could have used a little more support even though I'm small busted. Will be great for less impact sports.

great sports bra
December 21, 2010

I could not believe how extremely soft, comfortable and stretchy this sports bra is. Unfortunately I had to return it - my normal size s ( I am a 34a) was way too small - I hope the M will fit. This wool does not itch at all and should not stink. Should be perfect for all activities.

Comfortable and well-made, but not supportive
December 19, 2010

This bra is super comfortable, super well-made, but it is not what I would call a good sports bra. I'm a B-cup, ordered the small, and I was disappointed to discover that even going for a hike was too much for this bra. So it's been relegated to the lounging around the house wardrobe. On the plus side, it is lovely, soft, warm merino wool. It doesn't hold odor at all. I am hopeful that Ibex figured out how to make merino supportive, and will be ordering the Balance Support Bra soon. Fingers crossed!

Pros: Build quality
Cons: Low performance

Great Ibex quality
October 16, 2010

Ordered this in the red, wish I would have ordered another one in a different color. Was hesitant at first about a wool sport bra! but love it just like I have all of the Ibex items I have purchased in the past. Will probably try some other Ibex sport bra styles, too, when I can find one at another great price here! I'm 5'8, 135 pounds, 34B, and ordered a Med in this, was a bit tight at first but think will stretch out some with time so didn't want to go to a Large because of that. Has definitely converted me from the synthetic sport bras!

sooo comfortable
September 24, 2010

This bra was instantly comfortable, the moment I put it on. It was not restricting yet still supportive. I am an A cup so it may not work for larger cups when performing high impact sports. But for winter low impact activities it would be great. It adds warmth (it's wooL!) and wicks at the same time. So soft and did not itch at all. Great bra!

good in hot humid weather
August 12, 2010

i wear this in Singapore where we have very high humidity all year round. And it's fantastic in the heat and I don't get the polyester stink :)

great for everything!
August 11, 2010

coming from asia from a hot AND humid climate, i wasnt so sure if wool would be too hot. no worries. the ibex balance bra is PERFECT for cycling, yoga, walking, anything even in 90% humidity. and it doesnt stink !!! highly recommended

Feels so comfortable I never want to take it off
May 18, 2010

The Balance Sports Bra is the answer to eliminate the damp diaper feeling you can get with other sports bras after you perspire and no need to worry about getting chilled when you take a break. I recommend this bra for low impact activities and well suited for hiking, biking, kayaking and every day comfort and warmth.

great for hiking
May 11, 2010

I am more than satisfied with this sport bra. Now retired and hiking daily, it was suggested that I try merino wool underwear. Comfortable and soft, fits perfectly, a big improvement over conventional undergarments. I'm preparing to order another.

Perfect Sports Bra for Me
March 10, 2010

For a small busted person such as myself, this is the perfect sports bra. SO soft and comfortable, and does not hold any odor. I will definitely purchase another. The medium was a perfect fit for me. I am a 34A, so I don't need a tremendous amount of support. This bra provided plenty of support for me. However, I'm not sure this product would give a larger cup sized woman adequate support for activities such as running.

very comfortable
February 10, 2010

This sports bra is great. I got it for extended backpacking trips where I wear one and only have one spare. It is very comfortable, has adequate support, washes and dries well, and does not smell bad even in less than ideal conditions. I usually wear a 36 B and a medium fits perfectly.

Returning for a Bigger Size
December 28, 2009

I wear a 34C but opted for size small because I like a tight fit. Unfortunately its too small, but I'm looking forward to my Medium. Although it was uncomfortably small the fabric felt great...I love Merino!

No Itch Bra
June 18, 2009

This is the most comfortable bra I own, by far. I was surprised to discover the high wool content as usually any amount of wool makes me itch like crazy...no itchies here!! It feels soft and comfy and looks great in yoga class. Worth the expense.

most comfortable sports bra
January 07, 2009

I hesitated to buy this bra because of the price, but I found it on sale in 2008 here. I wish now that I bought more of these bras. I would probably get rid of my man made fabric bras. The wool feels great against the skin and the bra fits well. It does not ride up. It is a bra for A and B cups only.
