Good Pants
March 28, 2012

This is the second time I have purchased this specific pair of pants. The first wore out after many years of use. These are of a comfortable style with a pocket built into the leg (not obvious or overly-bulky like cargo pants) perfectly sized for a cell-phone (assuming you don't have a simply huge one), with a smaller partitioned pocket for a pen. The front has a third, zippered pocket perfect for keys or anything you're worried about losing. The velcro almost feels like it's going to pull a hole in the pants before letting you into the side or back pockets, but on my previous pair (which simply wore out from use), the quality of the stitching outlasted the fabric itself. Overall these are a durable pair of pants that look and feel great. I went out of my way to find the style again after the first pair wore out, and Altrec had the best price I could find. My order had free shipping and arrived when it was supposed to. I recommend them.

These are not the same pants
March 13, 2012

I wear ROC pants all the time and they are really go anywhere pants. I put a nice dress shirt on and blend in the crowd with suits no problem. They are extreme durable as far as fabrics, but not for the color. They fade quite quickly, so I hang them to dry. I also recycle them by dying and it works a treat. BUT! All the above goes for the original version. The first pair I bought back in 2004 and then a lot more. And now I wanted to get some more just in case they stop making them. I am on business for the week in US and I could hardly get them. They are not available in the shops any more (D.C). So I ordered them on-line from Altrec. BUT unfortunately these are not the same pants anymore and I am returning all 5 pairs: - the cut is almost the same - but the fabrics just looks the same - it's thinner and softer, so pants stay differently, so differently that it is not acceptable for me - the color is very much faded out from the box, too much - no way to blend in the suits anymore. I am really sorry! Now I know why they are not readily available anymore as they used to be.

Pros: once were the best
Cons: they are different now

Great pair of pant for work or play
March 08, 2012

These pants work well for both in the office (as long as you don't have to wear a suit everyday) and for casual wear as well. They are true to size as most Columbia products are and are quite durable also. I would not hesitate to recommend these pants to anyone who is looking for a pant that will crossover between functions.

Great pants
March 07, 2012

I just recieved these in the mail yesterday and they seem to be of great quality. They're light in weight but seem very durable and for work clothes that is a must. I'm very happy with my purchase and would reccomend to anyone who's looking for a nice work/casual pair of pants. Also Altrec had the lowest price I could find for these pants so I will definitly be coming back for more. Thanks

Mens Columbia ROC Pants
October 17, 2011

Another great Columbia product! These are some great pants if you have larger thighs then most, with plenty of room to move around in. I own 4 pairs and I'm just waiting for more colors to be offered!

Nice Fit
July 30, 2011

These are some of the best fitting pants I've owned. I have larger thighs with slimmer waist and sometimes it's hard to find proper fitting pants. These are cooler to wear in the summer than jeans as they are not heavy feeling like denim.

Columbia ROC Pants
June 16, 2011

They seem to be a little snug in the waist. Legs & thighs are loose fitting without being baggy. Material is soft, feel like it's been already broken in. They are as comfortable as an old pair of jeans but with an upscale casual look. When traveling, the security pocket is great at discouraging pickpockets, yet easily accessible.

Great rugged pant
June 07, 2011

I've had the Columbia ROC shorts for a couple of years and now I've got the pants and I'm completely hooked. They are very comfortable and very durable but also look pretty good. The sizing does run large although they seem to shrink over a number of washings, not just on the first one.

Pros: Great design, Lasts forever, Great value

ROC pants
May 31, 2011

I have a couple pairs of these ROC pants, and they are pretty good pants. They dont hold up well in washings, they do tend to fade quite a bit and seem to shrink also. I had a pair of 32x32's, while the inseam worked well, they did seem to shrink some which made them quite difficult to wear. The pants are also quite baggy which im not into so much, i would recommend the ultimate roc pants. while they do cost more than the normal roc pants, the ultimate is much better fabric quality. I do however like the little pocket on the leg for putting a knife or coins in. In all, pretty good pants i would just recommend the ultimate roc's over the normal roc pants.

Roc Pants
May 27, 2011

I've worn Roc pants for years and they are great. They wear like iron but they are very comfortable. I prefer to iron them with a little starch and they will hold their crease for several wearings. They are great when traveling on an extended trip when you have to pack light.

Columbia Roc pants
April 15, 2011

I took a flyer on the Columbia Roc pants and I am very happy that I did. The pants are a nice balance between function and appearance. They can be paired with a sweater for a night out or can be used on a muddy trail. The fit was a bit larger both in waist and circumference of pant legs, but the length was great and they may shrink a bit in the wash. My only complaint would be the button used to fasten the pants. I am not sure how well this will hold up.

ROC Pants Wear Like Iron
April 12, 2011

I have been wearing Columbia ROC pants for over 5 years and my previous pairs were never going to wear out, but I changed size and bought new ones. The pants are extremely comfortable with plenty of room in the seat and legs. The extra belt loops in back help the pants stay up when you bend over. Great product! They are a little tough to iron as the material is so heavy weight.

Soft and well made
March 08, 2011

My husband purchased a different color at a store and he liked them so much we started looking online for the same in a different color. We found these on Altrec, in the color we were looking for. They are easy to care for, soft and well made. Wash and wear in cold water keeps the colors and pants looking like new! They fit true to size and not too roomy yet comfortable fit. Easy to dress up too!

Nice fit but some wrinkles
February 08, 2011

I like the feel of these pants. It's extremely comfortable and it feels true to size. Only minor issue is that after I laundry it and dry it, it seems to need an iron to smooth out. I can't wear it right off the dryer. No problems though since the price is great.

The "new jeans"
January 11, 2011

These have become the "go to" pants in my closet. I have purchased four pairs in different colors and love them. They look decent and can wear them for work or for chores. Very comfortable and if I have to fly cross country, these are my first choice. In short, my blue jeans' days are numbered.

Love these pants!
January 04, 2011

I got my first pair of Columbia Roc Pants in May 2010. I'm 5'10", 185 lbs, and wear size 36/31 and I liked them so much that I now have 5 pairs - one in each color, plus a backup of my favorite, flax. I wear these pants to work during the week with a knit or button-down shirt (occationally with a tie, too). Weekends will find me wearing them around the house or out in the woods walking with my dog because they are more comfortable than jeans (and just as durable), and wearing them to church because they are nice looking. While not as dressy as some of my other slacks, these are much more durable and I like the slightly coarse texture of the cloth and roominess of the pockets. I've given these pants as a gift to my brother and father and recomend them to anyone. The only negative is the snap closure on the front - I would prefer a metal button instead of a snap, to prevent the pants from coming undone when bending over. Even though that hasn't happened to me yet, as the snap gets more used and worn, it could.

Pros: Build quality, Performance, Great value, comfort
Cons: snap closure

Good buy
December 29, 2010

The men's ROC pant is well worth a look at. I have purchased many Columbia shirts (did not fade or stretch) from Altrec and was not disappointed so I decided to try the pants. They fit well. I have an average body (5'10", 160 lbs, longer body with medium leg length). I was worried about the length but it was fine. I have washed them as instructed and they did not shrink during the drying cycle that I noticed. Big plus for me. I want clothes that keep their shape and last. The material is 100% cotton and soft. I am outside for recreation, inside for work and the ROC pants fit both lifestyles.

December 14, 2010

I'm extremely pleased with the quality & comfort of these ROC pants. The fit is just right, and they look much better when worn than in the online pic(s). It's easy to coordinate these colors with existing wardrobe, and can definitely be worn as office casual attire. But they will likely become your weekend favorites.

Pros: Build quality, good looking

my favorite pants
December 05, 2010

these are my favorite pants. I've got several pairs, and I wear them to work on a daily basis, typically in a casual office, where they are neat enough to tuck your shirt in and look decent, but then they are also rugged enough to wear outside, walking around in the woods, etc. they are comfortable and you can get a lot of wears and washes out of them before they wear out. Only thing negative can think of is they can come out of the laundry pretty wrinkled up sometimes.

Great design
October 13, 2010

I purchased several pairs of ROC shorts with the short 8 inch inseam this summer . I wear them for playing Golf . They are , hands down the most comfortable shorts I've ever owned . That's saying something since I am over 60 years old . I needed several pair of pants for a trip I am taking this fall so I looked for ROC pants . When I found them , I was Really Happy . Unfortunately , the only place I found that had the right colors in my size was on line . I ordered three pair in the same waist size as the shorts . Unfortunately , they were too small in the waist . I ordered the next size up and returned the pairs that didn't fit . Another problem that is mine alone is that I am a 31 inseam . Unfortunately , the pants only come in 30 or 32 inch inseam . These measurements were right on the money so I needed to have them altered . Because they are a double stitch seam , it is very difficult to find someone to alter them . So , after getting them for a very good price , paying a $20 restocking fee , return shipping , and expensive alterations , I am wearing very comfortable pants that have been worth all the cost and hassel ! Based on my experience with the shorts , I expect that I will be wearing them for years . I know if they are lost in my baggage , I won't hesitate to replace them . Thank you Columbia !!

Columbia ROC Pants
October 07, 2010

I am sold on Columbia brand products and have been particularly pleased with the ROC pants. We travel quite often (as often as we can) and I find these pants to be very confortable. The zipper pocket is ideal for securing your wallet, passport etc. Great product at a reasonable price. Altrec has done a great job of handling my orders and even ships overseas to military (APO) addresses free of charge.

Decent pants, funny pocket on the leg
September 17, 2010

These seem like a solid and durable pair of pants, and they were a great price. BUT, there is a really funny pocket on the right leg that seriously detracts from the pants. The leg pocket which didn't seem to be in the description is divided in two parts and both parts are really funny sizes so you can't really use it for anything. Otherwise they seem solid.

Pros: Build quality, Great value
Cons: Bad design

I'm 5'7" 156 lbs and the 33" 30 inseam fits perfect. I like the zippered security pocket and the deep pockets of the pants. It also has a phone pocket, but is a little tight for my droid phone(goes in easy, but difficult removal). I plane to get another pair soon
