Carlisle Outfitter Oar Blade (8in)

I upgraded from the standard Carlisle blade to the wider outfitter blades in preparation for our last Grand Canyon Colorado River trip. They grab a lot more water to help move a heavily laden boat more quickly. These are the only blades I will ever use. Once again, Altrec customer service and shipping time was exemplary.

This is a great product . I have used them for 25 years and only now needed to purchase new , because I was upgrading my other equipment and sold my old ones in a package deal.

I borrowed an oar for a trip down the Main Salmon. Wouldn't you know it. On the first rapid with close rock walls, I hit the wall with the oar and broke the blade. When I got home the person from whom I borrowed the oar was leaving on a trip of her own. I needed an oar blade fast. I ordered the blade on a Thursday afternoon and I received the blade the following afternoon. I didn't pay for next day shipping. I was impressed; my friend was happy and I'm a Altrec customer for life.
