Wish I had a DOT version
September 23, 2011
After YEARS of using the crazy looking biking helmets, I met someone who had (and swore by) his Bern. So I looked up the helmet and decided to purchase one after my most recent biking incident. I wish I had a DOT one for my motorcycle. I love this helmet. It's very comfortable and true to size.

This is the newest helmet bern has. I'm hoping it's their best!! The fact that it's not certified for impact is a little disappointing but I guess you can't have it all.
Pros: Great design, Performance, Great valueGets the job done

I was looking for something that didnt look like the typical road bike helmet and make my head look like an on-coming mushroom, while still providing good ventilation. This seemed to fit the bill pretty well. The helmet has nice big vents, which will come in handy in the heat. If you are looking for something a bit more streamlined, the Watts helmet is a little less bulky

I really like this helmet - I find it extremely comfortable, like the venting system, and generally like the fit - somehow feels very compact and safe. I have not yet test crashed it so cannot speak to that part of its performance! Fit is true to size.
Pros: Build qualityAn escape from the average bike helmet

If you are tired of bike helmets that look somewhat rediculous, this is the helmet for you. I'm impressed with the quality of the pads, the shell, and the adjustable ventillation system. I use the helmet for commuting and I close the vents on some of my chillier mornings. When it's warm outside, the vents do the job as well as some of the more traditional cycling helmets I've worn. The best part is that I don't look like I'm headed off for the Tour de France. The only downside is the screwed in visor. Several of the other offerings from Bern have an easier to remove visor. It just seemed like it was added as an afterthought. Overall, I'm a big fan of the helmet.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useBern G2

This is my first helmet purchase and I'm fairly pleased. I like the bern style, but was worried about heatstroke... The vents do a fair job at ventilating my head, but the helmet is weightier than your average bike helmet. I also didn't know that the bill is attached by a series of screws and therefore could be removed for a different aesthetic. I'll let you all know how I fair after my first crash, but thus far I'm pleased.
