didnt read the instructions before buying, was hoping to just add boiling water, but it does need to be cooked on the heat for a while so it will burn up extra fuel. Taste was actually a pleasant surprise and we will take it on the trail again. Vegetarian friendly too.

I bought these not knowing they required cooking in a pan, all I had was a Jet Boil and not wanting to clean it up I just added boiling water to the bag. It was still really pretty good, though a bit like egg "oatmeal". It's a small, flat package, packs easily, I'll bring it again next time.
