Personally, I think I'll opt for a traditional PFD vs the low-profile style. Materials and workmanship was great -- I especially liked the self adjusting shoulder straps -- storage pockets were also good.

as a woman,i tried on many,many pfd's to get one with a comfortable fit.even those labeled as "for women"didn't fit very comfortably.this one did and still was comfortable enough for kayaking.

i bought this mainly for comfort while paddling my kayak.it fits well,is fairly light compared to others but still has great stability in the water.is very durable.personally don't like the colors(mine is yellow)but if that's the worse complaint,then I'm in good shape.would recommend this highly especially if your new to water sports.

Purchased the Tempo 200 (XS-M). It's a very comfortable PFD with great access. Pockets are nice though tight.

The Astral Tempo 200 performs great for long distance touring. It is less restrictive, with plenty of functionality (the "chimney" vent is great in warm weather).

Recently purchased the Tempo 200 (L/XL yellow). A little pricey but competitive. Considered others but this has everything one could want in higher quality PFD; very good workmenship with quality materials, very good adjustability for an excellent fit (I'm 5'11" and 180 #), good mobility, good features, its totally yellow (more or less)... provides very good visibility, except it should have more reflective tape, the image shown is not as sold. Actual vest has only small pieces of reflective tape on shoulder straps and is not as shown. I was disappointed with Altrec's product representation. On the whole recommend it especially if you've an enviromental conscience and don't care about the reflective tape thing.
