Can't beat wool
March 02, 2012

This is by far the warmest hat I have ever owned. Just proves that nothing can equal with wool. It is very well designed and looks very stylish. The soft headband protects from the wool itch - very thoughtful design. But nothing in this hat beats the fact how warm it is, right from the moment you put it on. The only disadvantage of this hat is the "maintenance", since it has to be hand washed and dried lying flat to retain is look and style, but that's true for all wool clothing, and a small "price" to pay for the terrific warmth it provides. One additional note is that the wool used in this hat is much different than in other hats I used to own, and neither was as warm as this one.

Warm and comfortable
January 04, 2012

This hat is great for cold weather - it's lightweight, warm, keeps the ears covered, and the fleece band keeps the wool from scratching. Aesthetically speaking, the color is lovely but the shape of the hat can be a little boxy-looking on my narrow head (unless I have it pulled all the way down, in which case the hat is pulled so low as to cover my eyebrows). Overall, a great hat for a cold climate.

This beanie is Warm!!
December 17, 2011

I purchased the Classic Beanie Toque a couple of years ago and just about wore it out so I came back to Altrec to get another one. When I saw the Wooli Toque I had to try it out. It was 15 bucks more so it's got to be that much better, right? It's extremely warm and it's deeper than the Classic Beanie. I shave my head so I didn't really need any extra room in my hat but I still love it. The liner around the edge of the cap keeps the wool from itching your forehead and ears. I like the more subtle bird logo on the edge of the beanie versus the giant sewn-in logo on the Classic Beanie. I would buy this again and probably will in a couple years when I wear it out. (Bald guys have to wear hats a lot more) It's great for walking around your local shopping center or skiing in brutal conditions. I love these caps!

Warm
November 02, 2011

Sure the price is a bit steep but it’s a great hat. I got the Abyss Blue Wooli Toque and it does what it’s supposed to. Keeping my head warm. It is made of wool making it very comfortable, but if wool makes you especially itchy than you might prefer synthetic. But overall, it's not that bad, as it is tight fitting and it doesn't shrink in the wash.

Excellent Hat!
October 26, 2011

While the price is a bit steep for a hat, I was not disappointed after a full winter of use for alpine and cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and around town. This hat is extremely warm; a perfect choice for extra cold mornings. The fleece band around the inside of the hat keeps the wool from feeling scratchy. The hat also looks great: rich colors, stylish, lots of detail in the stitching. I have heard complaints that the little metal logo plate will fall off over time, but mine survived a full season of abuse. Overall, this is the best hat I have ever owned. I plan I buying a couple more before they stop making it.

Best one!
October 24, 2011

I never loved a hat before. But I really love this one. Really well designed and made. Also, made in Italy. I don't like stuff with a big brand name or brand logo on it. This hat fits everything I can think of a great hat. I'm getting more for my friends and family.

This cap is great becasuse it is all wool and that is not easy to find. Color and fit is also good. The color is a blended black and white which is more attractive than plain black.

March 31, 2011

Love this hat! The inner fleece lining is brilliant. Perfect ear covering length. Wish I had purchased it at the beginning of winter, rather than two weeks before it turned 80 degrees out... Have received number of compliments on it. The red/orange is gorgeous.

February 21, 2011

bought this in blue for a ski trip out in colorado and it works great. Long enough to completely cover your ears and down the back of your neck. it's very comfortable and i really like the color of the one i purchased. it's a bit pricey but you will not be disappointed. i also like the strip of fleece lining that covers the ears for a little additional warmth and comfort.

Great, warm, windproof hat
February 15, 2011

This hat is just what I was looking for. It is warm and very windproof, which makes it great for skiing and biking in the winter cold. I have many hats of various brands but this is now my go-to hat for those colder days when you just want to keep warm. Highly recommended and seems to be of high quality.

December 01, 2010

I own two of these from over the years. I am a big fan of Arcteryx products. This hat is warm, comfortable and durable. It also has a style and quality that just fits me personally. I always recommend this company when someone asks. The extra cash is well worth it in my opinion.

Wonderful Hat
November 27, 2010

I love Arcteryx products in general but had never purchased one of their hats. This did not disappoint. The quality and style are very good. Another reviewer said it fit his large head, so I was worried that it might not fit my small one. It works just fine.

Pros: Great design, Build quality

The Arc'teryx Wooli Toque is the best winter hat I've ever owned. The fit is perfect - completely covers the ears, isn't so tight that it causes itching, but snug enough to stay in place. On those really windy days it does an excellent job of blocking the wind, and yet on the calmer days it breathes enough to keep my head nice and dry.

Excellent Versatile Winter Hat
November 17, 2010

I bought the Arc'teryx Wooli Toque in the Carbide color. I have a fairly large head, and the hat fits comfortably and covers my ears well. It breathes well when it is not so cold, and keeps my head and ears warm when it is chilly outside. I haven't taken it into temperatures that approach 0F yet, but I am optimistic that it will do the job. It is also looks very nice; much more stylish and versatile for a variety of outfits than simple fleece beanies. I am very happy with my purchase.

best beanie i've owned
April 08, 2010

Arc'teryx does it again. They just make the finest winter wear products, period. I've owned many beanies, each time disappointed with the fit, look, or quality. I can't be more satisfied with this one. It just oozes quality -- fits and looks great, functions well in winter, wearable in sprint conditions. I'm sold. Any future beanie purchases will be from arcteryx.

Outstanding winter hat. Extremely warm and not itchy. Arcteryx quality and I think it may even be made in Italy. Stylish too!!!!

Great for winter
December 18, 2009

I bought the copper color. Looks great, very warm and protects from the wind. I take a XL hat and this beanie easily covers the ears with room to spare. It's more functional than the Arc'teryx Bird Head Toque Beanie in the snow, but not as sleek/sexy.

Awesome
December 04, 2009

Wore this hat to the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro. It was awesome. Only complaint is that the little Arcteryx metal label fell off (no big deal). Left it in Tanzania for the porters and will buy another.

The best ever hat stay warm and look cool

The best hat ever!
August 25, 2009

I lost this hat last spring and frantically searched the internet for it unsuccessfully. I was grateful Altrec carried it again this season. This is the warmest hat I have ever owned and I relied on it this past winter here in New England where it was especially harsh. My job consists of outdoor community work and the hat was a great asset. It looks smart, too.

Awesome beanie..

Great Hat
December 25, 2008

This hat is as advertised. Fleece lining lines the bottom 2 inches of the hat. It fits nicely covering all the way down to the bottom of my ears while still leaving some space up top. Not a skull cap. Looks good. Keeps me warm. Folds nicely to be able to stick in a pocket.

Jeffrey Vargo

Very warm. Great quality.
November 26, 2008

Cooper is a great color on this one. Very warm and just deep enough to pull down over ears and keep warm. A+ as always with Arc'teryx products.
