Nice liner
December 05, 2010

I usually wear a large in gloves and mittens so I bought the rivet ARs in large. They fit well around the palm but I feel the fingers are a little baggy. I think this exaggerates how much the seams in the fingers rub. It's not terribly bad but something I noticed. I wear them inside a windstopper glove and it works out quite well. If you're doing any aerobic activity you'll warm up fast in these gloves. I'm usually cold handed in nature so I'm quite happy with these gloves. If you're just standing outside it's not so great but I find that even my Absolute Mitts from black diamond don't cute it when my hands are already cold so I wasn't expecting much from any other glove for just standing in the cold. So far I've used them to hike in Yosemite in the snow, take pictures while hiking, walk the dog, drive (which I find to be a little sllippery on a leather steering wheel), cycling and jogging. Temperatures ranged from the 20s to the 40s. Overall a great liner. I wouldn't wear it by itself if you're doing something that requires some grip since the gloves are baggy in the fingers and don't have a lot of texture.

Great Glove
November 25, 2010

I purchased these gloves for cold weather Steelhead fishing with a flyrod. I had the opportunity to try them on a recent trip to Idaho. The gloves functioned great, they allowed me the dexterity and touch that is required to cast a fly rod and handle the line with feel. I will not use gloves until the temperature drops to below freezing. The gloves are human, you need to keep them dry. I learned to take them off to handle fish or to pull a wet anchor rope. When kept dry they do a good job of blocking wind. After all Arcteryx is the best.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

Durability: 3 / 5
Quality: 5 / 5

Good Gloves
November 24, 2010

I bought these gloves because I have an AT jacket made from the same material and have been pleased with the material's performance. It works equally well for gloves. Getting a really good fit in gloves is not easy for me, and some AT gloves haven't fit. I ordered these in medium (my normal size) and they fit perfectly. They are easy on and off and once in place become a second skin. The gloves are flexible and lightweight while providing reasonable protection from both wind and cold. I wear them regularly at temperatures as low as the 30's with no wind or 40's with wind. I haven't used them as a liner. Should work, though, under a mitten or glove with sufficient clearance. The material is not especially durable and will not resist abrasion. It should be fine for bicycling, skiing, running, driving, and around town activities. If I wear mine out I'll probably replace them.
